think games like last night convince me more and more that individuals have been letting him down this season more than anything. Obviously it’s partly his responsibility to get players up for games, but performances like last night’s, Arsenal and Man City are night and day to most of our other performances this season. The players are capable and the system works when the players do their jobs, and it can be great to watch. Consistency and determination has to be the players’ responsibility as much as the coaching staff.

tbf before tonight we’ve gone in front first in 7 games this season and only conceded 3 goals in those games (and not more than 1 in any of them), so his management when we’ve been leading has been very effective.

watching their goals on MOTD so annoying . Ball bounces back luckily to TAA for their second and Burn slips for their third. So unlucky.

hope the goal gives him some confidence, aye. Don’t necessarily agree that he needs to go on the outside more, but he definitely does need use the overlap more often because he is very predictable.

thought he was fine. Team shape always seems decent when he plays. We need better but that’s not news.

Hopefully he can do both (creating and dictating) as he gets used to playing higher up. He has enough ability.

Think that has value in some games but not in games where we need to dominate the ball and break teams down.

I think we could actually try and control possession in games with a Tonali/Bruno/Willock midfield, but I love Joelinton too much so I’m in two minds.

thought it was his better games of the season. Obviously playing a different role but played some really dangerous and creative passes that we’ve been missing. Assist for Isak is probably a pass that nobody else in our squad can make other than Isak himself.

it’s weird. He is so much better when he plays with aggression but he has been so half hearted most of the season. Tonight he was good in flashes and it was all moments where he went into 50/50s hard or actually drove at their defence with some conviction.

coached a 3-0 (could’ve been more) win here. It felt like we gave the ball away 3 times and Liverpool scored from all 3 of them, absolutely gutting. Great performance.

it makes such a big difference having another player who can receive the ball with his back to goal in midfield. I wondered whether he’d be good enough to do it but he’s been magnificent at it in the last couple of games. Having his pace on defensive transition is worlds apart from Bruno towing a trailer too.
