  1. No chance that Everton are rivals to us in any signings. They’re fucked under FFP as it is- they won’t be splashing out much cash going forward, and certainly not on the value of players we will be pursuing.
  2. How much would Rashford go for to start with? 50m? 75m? You could go and get practically anyone other than top elite tier players for that money. Someone younger, more potential, had a better season, more end product etc. There are loads of players out there. As per usual, there’s still a definite English home grown tax you have to pay. Look at Bruno for 40m. If he was English, you’d easily be looking at 60-70 or more. The foreign market simply provides better value, for sure.
  3. “United wrote a letter to the FA with Howe saying later: "Yes, we got a letter back and it was an enjoyable read and that’s it…"” (re: Leic, Liverpool and Man City decisions)
  4. Isn’t he more an ‘infrastructure’ and facilities/club overhaul guy, than scouting?
  5. More of a winger/forward I think?
  6. This. Apart from the odd extra few goals, I can’t see what JWP would bring to the team that we don’t already possess (good player that he is)? He’s like Shelvey in my eyes- good for a pass and free kick, but not particularly mobile, defensively sound, or physically/athletically imposing.
  7. agreed to sign for Dortmund, supposedly. Although Bayern are still sniffing around, I think.
  8. http://sportwitness.co.uk/newcastle-united-want-bundesliga-player-club-want-to-sell-last-chance-to-collect-decent-fee-in-summer/ new defender linked- Evan Ndicka
  9. Depends on the speed of their takeover over the summer and how desperate for cash they become. I reckon it’ll go through relatively quickly (lol) and they’ll be just fine though.
  10. They’ll still be in Europe. Arsenal is their home club. They’ve both got years left on their contracts. Theyre both England internationals and young up and coming players and will be absolutely mega money to buy. The cost would decimate our entire summer spend, I’d imagine. They both play well and seemingly trust in Arteta. Why would they leave?
  11. Not a hope in hell at this point, i’m afraid.
  12. And some players are just irreparable and beyond help. Dele Alli hasn’t been at the races for around 5 years now, through four manager/coaches of huge experience and calibre, all of whom haven’t been able to get him back to the form he showed as a 19-21 year old. He’s been in PL/cup games, in European games, challenging for the title, being in a relegation battle- nothing has altered his mindset or will. A coach can only do so much- as I’m sure you know, the player has to have self-reflection, and genuinely want the improvement too.
  13. On 18 March 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Jović broke Serbia's self-isolation protocol by flying from Madrid to Belgrade to attend Milošević's (his model partner) birthday party, drawing criticism from Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić herself and facing possible charges. There was also an issue about him throwing a party in Spain when he was out injured, and he upset Real after he was seen on social media running about and jumping in the pool etc. as well as this, he’s just not cut out to be a lone striker- his best play has been at Frankfurt and Serbia where he’s had another striker alongside him. He hasn’t got the ability to do it by himself, in the system we seem to be playing. With someone alongside him, I think he’d be worth a gamble. Seems quite reserved and lacking in general self confidence too, which has been picked up on by the media before- again, maybe just not the right personality for our centre forward, and what it entails.
  14. Slightly off topic, but I just remembered that Man Utd supposedly wanted £12m off us if we stayed up as part of the Lingaard loan deal…..lol! Money pay out well dodged.
  15. I posted his stats the other day- something like 7 goals in 68 appearances over the last three years. Plus off-field disciplinary matters and personal problems it seems- one to avoid I reckon.
  16. He’s out of contract at the end of the season, but Blackburn have the option of extending by a year, so a fee would need to be paid.
  17. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/60293289.amp he’s done a few pieces about why- basically says he expects us (after hearing plans from the owners) to be getting CL qualification soon, and in future seasons, to win the CL.
  18. Why unfortunate? Don’t you like the Castore kit? Who would you prefer?
  19. Castore signed a “multi year agreement” only last year to supply the kits- why would there be a new supplier? New sponsor, undoubtedly.
  20. 24 years old with only 7 goals in 67 total appearances in the last 3 years. Be worth it if he can regain his form from the first Frankfurt spell, but it’s a big ‘if’ imo.
  21. Ok, I jumped in, and am sorry @Froggy. It’s just a personal subject to me. My bad. Let’s chat about the football.
  22. I don’t know you, you’re right, but you’ve openly expressed sympathy with the terrorist cause in the past. I don’t care if you’re in here giving an opinion on your team, my team or football in general- it’s actually welcomed, believe it or not- but get off your high horse about taste, morality and hypocrisy.
  23. Says the man who lives in “the North of Ireland” because he refuses to acknowledge its actual name of ‘Northern Ireland’, hates the English connotations involved in that, and openly supports a terrorist organisation that injured over 200 people from a 1996 bombing in the home city of the very (English) club he has adopted? Pot and kettle re: the hypocrisy and tastelessness a little.
