And if he doesn’t want to take a cut then he’ll stay at Chelsea on his £250k. It’s nothing to do with Chelsea ‘wanting rid’- as with every player, it’s down to the individual under contract and whether they want to leave, not the club.

Van Nistelrooy appointed as PSV manager
-
Probably bullshit and money talks, but he didn’t sound too keen on us in the last week. Good player though.
-
Except he says there’s nothing to do in Newcastle and that he takes advice from Mignolet who has told him not to come to us!
-
This is where I’m at too. He’s on £250k at Chelsea, so won’t be leaving for much less than that, IF he does go. I’d rather we put those wages towards any of those players you’ve mentioned, or even two of them- Bruno is allegedly on £120k for comparison, so whatever we could pay the likes of Jonathan David would be a sizeable improvement and incentive compared to what he’s currently earning.

Made a loss of £372m over the last 3 years, and only allowed under FFP to lose £105m. Apparently they’re claiming new stadium costs and covid lockdown are extenuating circumstances. Joke.
-
Targett is agreed for £15m isn’t he? All media reports suggest that’s the case. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-newcastle-matt-targett-23380512.amp

Thought any new owners have to stump up £1bn extra costs to include squad building etc as part of any sale?
-
Why do they need to?
-
Who would you go for? Genuine question- I don’t know much about decent keepers.
-
He’d be great, but there are SO many decent players we can realistically get this summer once we stay up. It’s going to be a fun time! I’d personally love Antony here.
-
Need wingers and strikers more so, I’d say.
-
If Martinez is sold to someone in the PL which seems likely/possible, I can see Jesus being his replacement, as a cheaper option.
-
Been linked with us before, including in the last window. PSV want a record fee for him, more than the 45m they got for Lozano.
-
I reckon City would sell, but imo he seems the type that would want to try his hand abroad, maybe Spain. (Don’t know why I think that!)
-
Depends on the next manager and the promises of levels of investment in the squad they make to him, I guess.
-
He’s exactly what they need in fairness- much more so than Man City. A focal point up front who can hold the ball up, bring others into play and pass the ball onto the likes of onrunning Sancho etc, and also obviously score guaranteed double figures in goals- plus has at least another three or four years left at the top of his game. Oh, and not to mention also being a decent professional and perhaps changing the dressing room mentality a little- he’d more than likely be the captain over inept Harry.
-
“Which paid for his wages, so we didn’t lewse any money on the transfer marra…”
-
Permanent transfer with zero fee now but for agreed future fees (something like £20m after 20 appearances and a further £20m after 80?). Can’t see how they can get rid unless they both agree to release him for free at the end of the season?
-
Simply zero chance of getting Kane even if we threw ludicrous money at him. He’ll only leave Spurs to win trophies, else he might as well stay with them. For the initial fee he’d cost, plus wages, I’d happily buy 3 or 4 up and coming potential superstars instead, although I can accept he’s a great player, would score goals, and undoubtedly professional and a good leader off/on the pitch.
-
Over inflated egos due to winning the European Cup in 1982.
-
No chance he’d leave Spurs simply to come to us anyway.
-
Nope, not until next Saturday. They could be out of the playoff places again by end of today ??
-
No idea but doubt it. Plus the Isak and Raphina prices will be much higher than those shown. Plus there’s NO way they’d be able to afford the wages of all those. Pogba will be wanting 300-400k, Coutinho around 300k I’d guess. Villa have had to had his current wages subsidised by Barca at the current level- they’re only paying around 40% or something. Phillips would undoubtedly want a hefty pay rise if he left Leeds. This is pure wishful thinking rather than anything realistic.
