He got the attention and clicks he was looking for with his earlier claims. Now he's backing down by the looks of things. Predictable really. As is your usual pessimism on this thread. Only that he got it in the wrong Takeover thread. So put his usual pessimism and negativity in there then. Everyone knows what this thread is about.

“Has the experiment of appointing an inexperienced former player worked? Perhaps the most telling answer to that question - 731 days, around £250m of transfer spending, and 71 league games later - is that the jury is still out on the ex-United forward.“ But...but....OGS hasn’t been given any money to spend says Froggy. But...the players he HAS bought were purchased by previous managers/the board....lol. With what he’s been given, the facilities, the club should be where they are- he hasn’t done anything that any other run of the mill manager couldn’t also do. Given his former association with the club has bought him patience and time from the supporters and hence the board, else he’d have been peddled like the others before him by now.

From a SkySports article today: “against the big sides, it is not yet proving enough - from four games against Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City this season, United have only accrued two points, and scored just one goal. United have just three points more than they did after 12 games in 2018/19, only weeks before Mourinho was sacked to signal Solskjaer's arrival, and though United have only picked up more points to date in two of the seven previous seasons post-Fergie, they are only marginally ahead of where David Moyes sat in the early days of his short Old Trafford career at this juncture.“ The Man Utd ‘stars’ seem to be able to pull a performance out against lower opposition, but the stats say OGS is hardly any better than his run out of town predecessors. The only fact he’s still there, given his poor recruitment and complete inconsistency is because of supporters judging him with their red-tinted glasses on.

Not too late? He’s 20. Hardly in his twilight years.

"PIF have told Ashley to sack Bruce" Is that the line from your source, mate? Have I missed something? Where has Mimms said this ? page 596 I can't see where he's said "PIF have told Ashley to sack Bruce" Because he hasn’t. Yet IMTTS is insisting that he has. And people now jump on that as they can’t be bothered to read through the posts to find out for themselves. Yet again, IMTTS is sowing negativity and lying for no reason other than to be obnoxious.

"PIF have told Ashley to sack Bruce" Is that the line from your source, mate? What does Henry think about Bruce though? Will he persevere with him? I'm not sure what you're referencing here. "PIF have told Ashley to sack Bruce" <- that is a verbatim quote of what Mimms has been told by his source. If you believe Mimms, you should be extremely excited right now. How is that a verbatim quote? You’re so eager to find negativity and pick holes in anything which might be construed as positive that now you’re resorting to making things up?

Plus it seems they’ve suffered some bad injuries too. Gutted for them.

Lost 2-1 to mighty Fleetwood.

Come on a Toon board to moan about how bad your owners are, about how you don’t spend money, about your poor results being the product of having no crowds, stating the current manager has changed the culture, and how your ‘biggest and best’ club in the world can buy any players they want even over Real Madrid....despite your owner spending a billion pounds on transfers, despite your owners employing world class managers, despite your infrastructure being world class, despite every other team having zero crowds, despite former players and colleagues saying they can’t see any difference in consistency....and expect not to get pelters? It’s not abuse, but don’t be coming here and giving out crap, especially when we have been in a FARRRRRR shitter position for the past 13 years.

I'm not convinced on Ole, but this is a tad harsh. Was there no plan when they went 14 games unbeaten at end of Premier League last season? They've recently won 10 out of 10 away games - all luck was it? No, it wasn’t luck. They’ve spent (including OGS) nigh on a billion pounds in transfer fees. Their infrastructure is world class. As Froggy states, they’re the biggest and alleged best club in the world. Whoever manages them would get a good run together at some point. However, in 100 games, he’s had both good runs and bad, and has done nothing of any note permanence to suggest he deserves the job. Even ex colleagues and players are disputing whether he should still be there and how long to give him. I think Froggy sees things from red tinted glasses, that’s all. I apologise to Froggy- I really don’t want to come across as a prick here, and I’m sorry if what I’ve posted seems that way.
-
If Froggy didn’t come on here with patronising dribble about OGS not spending money, that the reason they’re not doing well is because of the lack of crowds, that it’s all the Glazers fault, that you can clearly see what OGS is trying to do etc etc, then maybe people wouldn’t nibble so much. The fact that there is legitimate talk about him being sacked means that the owners can see what Froggy himself can’t- that there is no plan, no discipline, completely inconsistent results, and he’s getting nowhere near enough out of a billion pound squad.

That 70,000 home fans matter to home results? Incredibly daft if you think otherwise. “Sometimes you wonder, do they understand the game of football. We’re 1-0 up, then there are one or two stray passes and they’re getting on players’ backs. It’s just not on. At the end of the day they need to get behind the team. Away from home our fans are fantastic, I’d call them the hardcore fans. But at home they have a few drinks and probably the prawn sandwiches, and they don’t realise what’s going on out on the pitch. I don’t think some of the people who come to Old Trafford can spell ‘football’, never mind understand it.“ Not to mention every other team having zero fans in the stadium also kind of levels the playing field?

Miserly Glazers would go for a Giggs/Scholes manager combo surely, before spending big money on the likes of Poch?

But SBR ‘failed’ Fulham and then got a job at Ipswich. OGS failed at Cardiff (and possibly did ok at a second rate league with Molde) but then walked into the ‘biggest’ job in the world bar none, allegedly.

Nah. If you’d have got Pep, Klopp, Bielsa or Bruce, you would be scoffing at the thought of Solskjaer.
