  1. For the money he’d cost, I’m hoping we’d be in for better options

But...but....what’s gonna happen to all the SunDELLand tshirts they had made up especially for the big investment news?!
  3. Wouldn’t mind us signing the next Van Basten or Cruyff to be fair!
  4. Weghorst is 6’6” tall?! If Carroll stayed fit, imagine the high balls pumped into the box for them both!
  5. Not to mention that there have already been rumours of the PL breaching confidentiality by discussing the takeover with both BeIN as well as Hatice Cengiz...

Or they can use it to keep the lift going.
  7. Or hairy hands getting to grips with his baseball ‘morality’.

Their U18s didn’t even reach those lofty heights...
  9. Wasn’t that how they lost out on signing Haaland last year also, after agreeing everything with him? (The new agent bit!)
  10. What, not show the PL in the Middle East? Haven’t they already paid the PL for the rights? It makes no odds, surely? What would the PL be concerned about if BeIN decide to not show the games?
  11. https://www.themag.co.uk/2019/12/steve-bruce-threatened-with-a-shovel-by-his-family-when-offered-newcastle-united-job/ He was offered the job when Birmingham manager and turned us down. Then ‘regretted it ever since’...
  12. How many more letters can be sent to the FA/Govt before this gets signed off?
  13. SBR was at Barcelona and had made a promise not to break his contract. Bruce was at Birmingham City and didn’t take it because he was either cowardly, or stupid. If not giving Bruce a chance you want someone totally different? Am I missing something? As opposed to what? Do you mean totally different to anyone we’ve had before (ie Rafa?).?
  14. There’s about ten differing news outlets (Guardian, Mail, BBC, Gazette etc) saying the report is bad news for the takeover and it’ll be off, then you get another ten saying the report is great and the takeover should fly through. How can words on a page be interpreted so incredibly diversely?
  15. Aye, reeto Schteve. Cut the budget you say. From what exactly?! And why would they even do that? Bellend.
  16. Of course we CAN! The point is, that we won’t/aren’t!
  17. Wasn’t it Juve that had links with Gaddafi and his son a few years back? Bet even that wouldn’t have taken this long for the PL to approve....
  18. But we won’t be buying him- he’s on a free transfer.
  19. Personally, me too. But I can see a couple of older super respected and talented players with a couple of years left in the tank (but no resale potential) coming in to help with the development of the likes of the Longstaffs. Rafa especially, loves those kinds of players. Plus we have allegedly sounded out the likes of Mertens etc which fits with this.
  20. Lallana is also 32 and hasn’t played regularly for a couple of seasons. His best is behind him and if we’re looking to progress we should be signing better and younger. We've already got 2 young prospects in midfield and what they need is some guidance, and we certainly need some experience in there. It's about building a balanced squad rather than just a 1st team. If we could sell Shelvey and replace him for free with a player not going to spit the dummy if he doesn't play the majority of games then i think its a decent idea, especially if we're staying within FFP. If we’re going to bring in someone as a mentor to the Longstaffs I’d rather it was someone with a bit more pedigree and standing than Lallana. More like a Cambiaso-type when he signed for Leicester. If Werder Bremen go down, Nuri Sahin might be available on the cheap. Or a Ballack type player with plenty of experience and commands respect. Matic?
  21. I’m pretty sure that Mertens is staying in Italy too.

    Die Bundesliga

£72.9m wouldn't be anywhere near enough for Havertz from a foreign side. What? For a foreign side? You implying they’d accept less from Bayern than a PL side for him?
  23. Although being employed at another club, contracts etc, may well force the new owners to wait until all seasons are finished one way or another in order to get their man. It’s easier done after a seasons end for a manager to leave his club than to do so during the playing season.
  24. Even if Bruce stays for the remainder, he won’t have any say in what’s happening other than training and putting a team out. There have been strong rumours about a Director of Football being appointed, and it’s this new employee that will develop the clubs style more than the current manager (until a new one is appointed), along with prospective new players etc
  25. Rafa- tried and tested. Decent record, improves us defensively, and organised the overall structure of the club and facilities. Likely to be his last job. Nagelsmann- unknown quantity outside Germany. Seen as the new Klopp/Tuchel. Attack minded, great man manager and will also improve facilities and organisation. Works under DoF and improves young players. Zidane- managed Real. Alienates players. Seen as cold and unengaging. Simeone- great record. Defensively motivated and often plays 10 men behind the ball. No record of over seeing facilities. Rafa/Nagelsmann for me without a doubt.
