  1. “According to our information, a foreign club has just strengthen its interest in Désiré Doué. This is Newcastle... The Magpies have become accustomed to watching League 1 carefully. And after the successful transfer of Bruno Guimaraes, who has become one of the best in his position in the Premier League in less than a year, Newcastle has every reason to continue its market in France. Désiré Doué is now one of the targets for 2023. Like Mathys Tel, who went to Bayern Munich for a 20 million euro check even before he was 18 years old, Désiré Doué could also opt for European sirens before even having made all his classes in Ligue 1.” https://mediafoot.net/newcastle-craque-pour-desire-doue-info-media-foot/

    Garang Kuol

Supposedly got his permit now… https://www.ftbl.com.au/news/socceroos-rookie-kuol-set-for-uk-loan-as-magpies-career-begins-589454?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=insidesport_autopost
  3. Plus, we couldn’t compete with the lure of being coached by Stevie G
  4. Supposed to be quite friendly with each other

If he leaves, then I think they get more compensation as they’d claim he was a first team player.
  6. Ah, great. Where’s that from? I haven’t seen anything to say that.
  7. Danjuma has a €75m release clause according to The Athletic. Can’t see us paying that, especially this window.
  8. I actually saw a media piece this morning (struggling to find it again now) about us going back in for him (maybe in the summer?). Can’t see Man City selling though, or him even wanting to move so soon again?

    Matt Targett

Letting him get surgery as the severity of the injury requires it.
  10. You’d think they’d want to recoup some of their £50m if he was sold. For the money, I think we’d be better off elsewhere.
  11. The youngster is widely touted as one of the best full-backs in the world, such has been the quality of Alexander-Arnold's attacking displays. And though Carragher acknowledges the young defender is one of Liverpool's most creative outlets, he believes the defensive side of his game leaves a lot to be desired. The Reds legend was analysing his former club's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace for Sky Sports' Monday Night Football when he noted an error made by Alexander-Arnold in the build-up to Wilfried Zaha's goal for the Eagles. "Trent loses the ball (in midfield), he’s in like a fight with Zaha and it’s tough. This is my biggest problem right now with Trent, you have to sprint back but he’s jogging," said Carragher. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jamie-carragher-details-biggest-problem-20962531?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target
  12. Obviously. But I’ve seen it happen LOADS of time when a player (often the opposition left midfielder/forward) has, or created, a chance and Trent is casually jogging back towards his/the player. It’s been picked up by commentators lots too. The likes of Trippier, James, etc all bust a gut to get back to help or atone for their error.
  13. C) when the opponent gets a goal scoring chance and the camera picks him up jogging back from his forward position as though he just doesn’t give a shit and can’t be arsed busting a gut to get back and defend. Seen this time and time again. You see it with our team and with great defenders who are genuinely gutted to concede a goal- with him, he hasn’t got that same attitude, seemingly so long as he provides another assist it cancels it all out.
  14. Me too. Wasn’t there a hue and cry about the cost of goldfish and their bowls in the office when the finances fell apart?
  15. His life choice has been to achieve sporting greatness, not monetary success (although that has obviously come as a by product of his sporting prowess). He’s just ripped that up and done a complete about turn. I wasn’t saying he should coach kids- it was more stay at Man Utd (on £500kpw), still get playing time and chance of trophies, but acknowledge that you won’t play as much as you want and use the time to pass your experience on.
  16. In his head, he was going to move to a Bayern or Napoli (not even a ‘Sporting’) and hammer gone some CL goals to add to his tally and make Man Utd look foolish. In reality, it was never going to happen. He should’ve accepted that he has very little time left in the game, and used his experience for the good of the game in passing his knowledge to younger players who would’ve benefitted immensely- but that would’ve taken the focus and media away from himself which just isn’t in his makeup. Sad end to a great career (up to the start of this season).
  17. Nothing wrong with the answer for the position that he’s currently in, however, when he was being bank rolled by a billionaire energy drink company and his team were buying players for a combined 5 times what the rest of the league were put together, he seemed to be pretty accepting and quiet about the state of the game financially. Plus Leeds have only spent £13m less than us for the years they’ve been back in the PL, and the majority of our spend has naturally come in the last year to merely catch up with them.
  18. Cue all the Mackems slagging off Saudi Arabia and stating it’s just a ploy for him to join us free/on loan…
  19. Did I read someplace he’s allegedly on £176m per year to go there? £3.4m per week? Fucking outrageous.
