  1. Leeds proper fucked now after that red.
  2. I don’t think we baulked at higher prices. We made high bids for various players (Nunez and Carlos being two) and the transfers didn’t occur for various reasons. £30-40m for a (first choice) striker is NOT a big amount. Bruno was £35m and a striker would cost a lot more if your looking for equal quality. It appears that we are in the running still for Ekitike for £25-30m- he would be seen as ‘one for the future’ for instance. I believe that we paid the prices we did in January because we simply needed those players as upgrades to the ones we had, and needed a fresh influx of blood to get people and hope moving again. It has been quite well publicised we want to lower the age of the squad as well as add quality. This will not occur with £10-25m signings being the standard.
  3. Can actually see him going back to Chelsea. edit.- more likely Arsenal though.

Jack Clarke? He’s on loan from Spurs. Like one of their other best players, Broadhead, who’s on loan from Everton.
  5. Roma are paying him £115k pw, so I’d expect him to want a rise to move. Would he be worth upsetting the dressing room, like you suggest it might?
  6. Villa are paying 125k at the moment towards his wages.

Thanks. Genuinely didn’t know. Don’t think we’ve played against Roberts- maybe when he was at Fulham perhaps? He hasn’t played in England for a while I don’t think? If you do go up this year, how much would you want your owners to invest in the squad? Would it need much rebuilding for the championship? How likely is the investment, given the ‘chancer’ reputation of The Don and Salmon Pants, and the fact that KLD only has 41%?
  8. Purple patch for sure. He’s only scored more than 4 times a season in the PL once before.
  9. Man Utd (yes, I know they’re not in the CL, but they would still attract him) or West Ham.

Defoe? Can’t think of the others.

If that’s the case, and they’ve played at that level, I’d have thought they’d have been able to make a better effort getting out of League One for the past few years?

In fairness, when L1 is ranked 30th in the world behind the likes of the Chinese and Australian leagues, it’s unlikely that anyone would take much interest in, or know about your players.
  13. Lingard is free? Rashford has two years left on his contract so would cost £70m + those wages?
  14. Not enacted yet. Supposedly will be put forward this winter in time for the following season.

Ah, but have you stopped shitting in your stadium seat?

I’ve had to stop punching the horse.
  17. Jesus will be leaving Man City this summer but I can’t see us paying the wages he’d want.
  18. The blue one IS the 3rd kit. Our second kit is allegedly a white/green one.
  19. No thanks to Fannie Mae, or Kleenex…??
  20. Maybe Milan, after we buy Leao from them…??
  21. It was to do with stadium sponsorship in general, but she named Aramco. Staveley, speaking at the Financial Times Business of Football Summit, said: "No. Look, quite rightly some clubs look at the related party issues and thought we'd go in and have Saudi Aramco or a Saudi sponsor all over the stadium and that has not happened. "First and foremost St James' belongs to the fans and we always remember that we are custodians and we are privileged to be there. We have got the world's greatest fans. We want to make sure we do everything that's right for Newcastle and the club. PIF are incredibly aware of their position as custodians and they want to make sure that whatever sponsorship decisions are taken in the future with due care and attention."
  22. They offered 200k pw to Declan Rice, who turned them down. Bruno is our top earner on around 125k. Lingard earns 100k at the moment so I guess would be wanting 150-200k?
  23. I’d have though the Fun88 contract would be paid off (especially with the Saudi/gambling aspect) but we seem to be against paying money where we don’t ‘need’ to, as with the Ashworth gardening leave. Depends how long the contract is how much, and if it’s worth it to the club, I guess.
  24. Newcastle's drastic upturn in form has seen the Magpies move safely into mid-table, with attention now able to turn to planning for next season in the top-flight. However, it would appear that any further approach for Ruiz will fall upon deaf ears, according to journalist Mirko Calemme. Calemme told the Radio Goal show, via Sport Witness: “The Spaniard said ‘no’ to Newcastle because he knows he can aim for a more prestigious club. With Napoli there is no certainty, but the renewal has been blocked for two years and everything suggests that he is the one sacrificed on the market. But De Laurentiis, as we know, never say never.”
