This young man has no ceiling
-
How on earth is Murphy still on!!?
-
Very little quality on show so far
-
Why has Pope not come for any of those throws?
-
Similar to Wright, but my main point was more around there's less natural decline due to age with a Wissa, to a Vardy. He's pace isn't the main attribute, so any slow down wouldn't see too much fall.off.
-
I'd see him more of an Ian Wright than a Vardy, Vardy was blistering pace and being relentless. Wright was movement and finishing until his body gave up on him.
-
Balls, missed it.
-
Looking less and less like the GK I thought he was
-
Needs to be the 3rd man in midfield until rotation is needed now
-
Annoyed by how late the final subs came to be honest, it felt like we needed some pace in behind to give them something different to worry about.
-
I wouldn't start him against Marseille, he's just back from Injury and we need him against Everton more than Marseille, Trippier is better in the Champs League than in the prem aswell
-
The dude that does the chicken dance is annoying, and im not even sure why
-
A break from the limelight will do him good I think, he needs a reset. If this continues the money we can sell him for, might not even be worth it
-
He's been terrible so far, needs to stop giving the ball away
-
8-1 from 9 SOT and an XG of under 2, sounds plausible to me.
-
I dont think we can downplay how much confidence it gave West Ham him flapping at everything in the 1st half. Catch it, kill the momentum.
-
What a strange game for him today 🤔
-
He's pissing me off today with this punching. Catch the ball!! Some of them have been easy catches as well
-
So, at the time what was the other solution that people would have stopped us getting a points deduction? Also, surely he had been developed sufficiently by us to be doing what he is doing now? We just got caught in a position where we had to sell before getting the benefit. We have also haven't had any top quality youth to develop until now (Carroll aside)

Is anyone else starting to worry? As much as I dont think we should be..... yet, the below were a few worrying signs today: 1. Both goals came from “Bruno in the 6” style situations. One line breaking pass took out the whole midfield, and we never recovered. The real concern is that nothing changed tactically to stop it, it happened all game. 2. The starting wide men still don’t look a threat. We looked far better once Murphy, and later Barnes came on. At least 1 of these 2 needed to start, both do in certain games 3. Joelinton seems to be fading. It might be time to upgrade the technical level in that role. I genuinely think Miley could be that guy. (Have been thinking about this being a key upgrade since before the end of last season) 4. Pope and Burn are such easy press triggers. Brighton pressed the life out of us every time one of them got the ball. Other teams will notice and use the same plan. Having 2 triggers so close will always be a problem. 5. Biggest concern: our full backs don’t look convincing going forward or backward. We need to try something different in those areas, or the season could fade away before Hall and Tino are fully back and firing. Surely it's worth trying Krafth at some point, as these 2 are not offering much at all atm..

What a silly take. Anderson played decent minutes and looked ok, no one was screaming for him to start regularly. The right call was made at the time, but in hindsight he looks class now, but he's also playing a Tonali/Bruno role rather than a Joelinton. So, he wouldn't have progressed as he has with us and may not even be starting regular for us now.

Here’s my final take on Number 14: Firstly, I think we all know he’ll come good to an extent, but I don’t think he’ll ever fully justify the price tag. He’s a player capable of special moments, but he also needs a well-functioning system around him to get the best out of his ability going forward. Particularly as he off the ball application has never been amazing, and pressing has never really been one of his strengths. The issue he’ll face at Liverpool is that the system won’t be built for most of the chances to fall to him like it was here. They have too many other attacking options for that, and Liverpool’s build-up play is far more intricate than our was, which isn’t necessarily his strongest suit. In fact, some might argue that Woltemade would’ve been a better fit, and it’s also why Ekitike has looked more natural as their No. 9. Essentially, Isak can be elite in the right system. Whereas players like Kane and Haaland are simply elite, regardless of the system. The question is whether he’ll ever get that system at Liverpool. To back that up, just look at his Sweden form: even when he was at his best for us, it was never outstanding, and it’s looked even worse since Kulusevski dropped out of that side.

The issue we’ve got right now is that with Tino out, we need to manage rests a bit differently. What happens if we get to a point where both Botman and Trips need a rest at the same time? That would leave us with either Krafth starting, or Burn at LB, Hall at RB, and one of Thiaw or Schär at LCB (unless one of them is pushed across to RB). It’s definitely better depth than we’ve had in a long time, but we’ve got to be smart with the game time while Tino’s unavailable so it doesn’t turn into a problem.
