I don’t really view this as bad news. He’s obviously been whinging and Howe has dealt with it to focus on the players he’ll use. He could have been on the bench for the final. Given the circumstances he left Bournemouth in im entirely unsurprised how his career will end here. What is surprising is how utterly useless he’s been.

We’ve maintained top four form since last January so I wouldn’t be surprised if we kept it going despite looking leggy in recent weeks. In past seasons that would have been a 5-0 demolition after what happened early on yet we continued to push them. Not going to bleat on about it because I’ve mentioned it a few times but always felt not investing in January was a missed opportunity given what we had in front of us. We could have skipped a couple of years development with Champions League money. We still might though.

Given it’s only a game bad I’d appeal it for the sake. Ball was going away from goal, it wasn’t last man and he slipped over - would have been more helpful to his case if he basically didn’t catch it when he landed

Watched it again there and he’s basically just slipped over. It’s so unlucky.

Is recalling Darlow a possibility? Nothing against Karius but given how long he’s been out making his debut in a cup final really isn’t ideal. That’s without considering the baggage he’ll have from his last cup final.
