this sort of naievity really needs looking at. he is taking money out without reducing the debt. No need to be so cunty, I was only trying to grasp at possible positives in a sea s***. I am far from naive. Even if he has paid himself back it's not really helping matters. I think most of us assumed his 300mil asking price was inclusive of the debt but if he has paid himself a chunk of debt back and is still asking 300Mil then that would be another matter entirely. Isn't the common consensus that he values the club at around £200m + the / his loans (& original debt incurred whilst paying off the club loan for developing the ground (70m?)). In reality, those debts are a consequence of his poor stewardship /lack of DD when buying the club so he`s clearly intent on having his cake etc.

I know that's the suspicion but does anyone know that yet? I mean I`ve probably read the same as most on here but don't remember whether the rumoured "repayment" has been confirmed as loan or dividend.

I would reckon we`d be lucky to get only a "worse" manager than Rafa, as its almost certain anyone with any credibility wouldn't touch an Ashley (Moneyless) relegated NUFC with a bargepole. Can you really see Ashley /Charnley appointing anything other than another token patsy, way out of their depth spending their tenure on bended knees paying homage to Ashley whilst trotting out the usual cliched platitudes as we sink lower...and lower.

You also need to factor In the debt accrued by both relegations which, given certain quite feasible scenarios , may well push us close to a potential basket case of spiraling debt which, added to the potential cost of buying the club, will effectively render the club unsellable (see CCFC SISU) unless Ashley takes a massive hit which, given his track record, is never going to happen. Very dangerous times ahead if we go down

It's quite simple really: There is no bid, this is all nonsense and spin designed appease the fans and to allow another transfer window to pass without us doing any of that silly "transfer" stuff. Given the current internal politics & general state of NUFC at the moment, I cant imagine a scenario whereby we smash our transfer record & bring in a top quality, hungry player with years ahead of him.

Assuming nearly all purchased from the club shop / SD / SJP are by and large made by Newcastle supporters, then its fair to say most (fans) don't share that view. It is my experience that the anti- Ashley rhetoric which is pretty much uniform across most social media platforms - just dosent seem to reflect within the rank & file support as a whole. Though paradoxically, assuming the majority of support aren't non-techno luddites, they must be exposed to the same tweets, posts, articles etc. that we all are so it remains baffling why, given our well chronicled demise, anyone could possibly draw any other conclusions other than most on here. I believe the answer is, quite simply, not enough people care enough to "walk the walk" & most are now embarrassingly fickle. A point Ashley & co. know all too well & feed off constantly as it seems to correlate with modern society as a whole. I would also add that criticising people who still feel (Morally or otherwise) obliged to turn up on match day doesn't sit easy with me. The assumption that, say, some young lad(s) or old boy(s) who now and again get the odd chance to see the team live and all that the day can bring is somehow pissing on the parade of righteousness and thus providing succour to Ashley seems to be a rather sanctimonious (& often) hypocritical line to take. Even if the criticism seems to be reserved for a different kind of match go-er, it still suggests an element of unprincipled treachery regardless.

Given that they must be aware of our track record (squirming out of agents fees / getting cheap on wages etc.) it seems likely they never took our "interest" seriously anyway. & lets be honest, if your client had a choice of clubs to move to, this is one of the last places you`d advise him to sign for unless we threw shitloads of dough at it (Which we obviously wont). No, nothing to see here, move along now

Regardless of the true value of the club, Ashley will just keep it out of reach to the point where it seems it will never happen. A big Finance version of ZeRoE`s tit avatar if you will
