  1. if we win the special europa league does that mean we get to play in the super cup next season?
  2. who says he aint arsed about it,. a lot of fans get confused with 'resting players' and 'managing the squad'. its quite simple, come sunday, (usually its saturday) we play a premiership team who has had 6 days rest. if we field our full strength team tonight we would've had 2/half days rest by the time we play the Villa. im not saying we can't beat the Villa by playing full strength tonight and not bother to squad rotate. but you get the idea, that the opposition who's had a full 6 days to prepare for the same match compared to another team thats only got a few days, has a distinctive advantage.,, no? Perhaps not to those words, but he's stated before this isn't one of his priorities it probably isnt. prem league is always our bread and butter. would you settle for finishing outside top 8 just to win the europa league? i dont know. I would Damn right I would i dont think i would. finishing outside top 8 would mean some pretty awful saturdays and sundays.

  5. probably be playing much more 4-4-2 indeed if we had AC back. What is he going to do? stick 10 million pound cisse on the bench and play Ba out left in a 4-3-3, he wont play all three upfront. so it will be 4-4-2 formation. not really a bad thing of course but getting abit unpopular with our fans here on this forum
  6. we did smash it up to him quite a bit under CH, and pardew then came in and made us play less direct.
  7. no where because no team in the top 4 wants him. and i doubt the teams outside the top 4 will match the wages he's on at liverpool or the transfer value. he made it clear AC wont leave on a loan. Those quotes though, sound like he wants the wages off if he cant sell him. Even if it does mean a season loan. Just trying to read between the lines of what Rodgers said. wont read anything rodgers is saying, he's clearly deluded and probably expect atleast 20 mill for the lad. i find it strange why he cant fit AC in the way he wants his team to play. AC is very underated footballer, he's not just a beanpole who gets on the end of things from long balls. Funnily enough lots on here seem to think he's one dimensional. I agree with you he is much better than that. he's definitely better than that but i still don't want him back unless its for a good good price, and he doesnt disrupt the harmony of the team, we know saylor and him dont get on much, and AC was part of the little group of godfathers, aka smith barton nolan and such.

  11. iv been watching since second half thinking the team in white were lille.
  12. why all these players taking it so serious?, diving and such , its only super cup.
  13. im not surprised debuchy wants to leave, his team don't look too clever atm.
  14. yeah and lille looks out of ideas as well. pretty good game.
  15. mustn't underestimate how much we pissed them off, we obviously gone through some slightly underhanded way of finding out cabaye's release clause and manage to nab him for pittance compared how much he really was worth. that has not been forgotten by Lille we can be sure of of that.
  16. i tired of hearing about this douglas twat, if he really wanted to join us he would had by now. sod him
  17. It has served us well at times but we are evolving as a team and have the players that are better suited not to 4-4-2 but other formations, namely 4-3-3. Even Stevie Wonder would tell you we play better in a 4-3-3 or more importantly, our better players play better. Cabaye and Ben Arfa are almost wasted in a 4-4-2 where as Cisse and Demba get in each other's way. As for Villa last season, we were set up 4-4-2 but Cabaye's role was an advanced attacking one, and not the deep anchored role he was deployed in today or is often asked to play when at 4-4-2. Same against Man Utd at home, 4-4-2 set-up but due to the atmosphere, the way the game was set up etc. the formation went out of the window and the players were all, or mainly to a man, playing their own game, Cabaye and Tiote in particular. It was the same in the 2-2 draw with Spurs at home. People say well we beat Man Ut at home and Chelsea away at 4-4-2 but our best run of form and our best performances all came when we went 4-3-3 towards the end of last season, a formation that allowed Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Cisse in particular to perform really well. 4-4-2 restricts all their games and with it the team's ability to win and perform well. If we are to stick with 4-4-2 we should of kept Guthrie, Routledge and Best... what? why would we need to keep those three if we want to play 4-4-2? Routledge was shocking for us under 4-4-2. he seems play abit better at swansea in a 5 man midfield or 3 man attack. Best was good in a two man attack granted but for guthrie i think he's way better in a 3 or 5 man midfield
  18. bernard was always quite partial to the odd pie when he played for us, looks like he has been indulging himself again.
  19. i dont think this 'free transfer' thing is going happen quite so smoothly. he was on around 50-60k when we granted him his free transfee, just to get rid of his big gob we still had to pay off the remainder of his contract but he had less than 1 year left so it wasnt a huge write off given the liability the man was on and off field. QPR are probably offering him a deal type of a free transfer on the premise barton agrees to wave off the remainder of his contract, which he won't lol because he probably has at least 2 years left there and is on about 70-80k a week, thats a lot of money for him to give up. QPR are trying to step up the PR game with mr barton, saying "Ok you're so desperate to go? Go but you have to write off the remainder of your contract £££"
  20. think alot of people here have recently developed a big fascination with attacking fullbacks. i personally don't give a shit how good a fullback attacking abilities are if they cant defend in the first place. do we really know how good this debuchy guy is at defending?
  21. my opinion of simpson has always been, a good defender , rubbish footballer. ala good without the ball (tackling, shot stopping, marking etc) s*** on the ball (control, pass, cross, dribbling etc)
  22. wtf? this title, i thought qpr had granted the boy a release, thought he's a free agent again
