  1. I don't think it's a case of becoming like those teams, but we had ten corners and numerous free-kicks (they made twenty fouls!). Apart from the Cabaye effort at the end, they were gash. You can't afford to pass up that many opportunities to get unchallenged deliveries into good areas. you know what even if we had decent deliveries today, ba and cisse were both getting in each other's way. i saw them talking to each after a decent ball in and they were clearing indicating "hey that should be mine" yeh it would great if we can have good set pieces, but what wasnt our main problem today. we were lethargic, hence the spaces we left open between our attack and midfield, and midfield and defence. huge gaping holes that the villa players could had used to punish us had they been a better side. Totally agree, but when you're playing s**** in open play you need to be able to take advantage of set pieces at least. Think that's what Pardew was referring to; even when we got numerous free chances to create chances we couldn't do so. Could easily have got us two extra points today. well yeah and i think we all noticed how fucking slow we were in the first half whenever the ball went out of play, corner, throwings, or when we were awarded freekicks. i was like wtf this is not an away game, your at home why take so long, had they had a shit prep of a pre-season?, not that many players went to ukraine or the olympics, why so lethargic?

  3. yep im tired of seeing him putting his foot over ball while shielding the opponent from the ball with his body and basically just standing on the spot doing it not moving, Ba was guilty of doing the same thing. if you havent got a team mate to pass to, dribble away from your marker and look for a pass, what they did today was just lazy standing there all macho with their foot over the ball shielding, whilst backing into their marker almost like waiting to get spooned. its fair enough if we were winning and needed to waste some time on the corner flag, dont bloody do it when its 0-0 or 0-1 down ffs. You mean trying to hold the ball up and retain possession until teams mates are available for pass or would you prefer he ran down a dead end and lose the ball in a less macho fashion ? what i mean is look up look around team mates arent that far away, try turning, spinning away from your marker, football is pass and move basic stuff unless you're limited. I think if the option was on he or Ba would do that. Villa were closing us down quickly. ba and jonas were doing it for no particular reason, at times they did it when they could see a team mate to pass to, other times instead of beating their man who was on them they simply stopped dribbling, stood there and did that foot over the ball bullshit, lack of fitness perhaps, the jonas and ba of last season would have kept dribbling.
  4. we need to stop using our poor set pieces as excuses. sure it helps if we can actually beat the first man, but if our game is to rely on set pieces to win games we might as well become more like stoke and west ham.

  8. they both getting into each other's way, going for the same balls, same runs, both goal poachers. and that makes it extremely easy for the opposition's defenders to deal with. 2 forwards making same runs is as easy as defending against just one striker with one movement. had we had 3 up top , or one striker with movement from both side of him from our wide men, would have made a world of difference i dont blame them i blame the system that dont suit them.
  9. we played mostly 4312 which is not a million miles away from a 442, thus keeping the same front 2 upfront which most of us know it isnt really working, it doesnt work for senegal it doesnt work for us.
  10. 5mins left , then he made the type of changes most of us was expecting round about the 70 min mark. we didnt go for broke until 5 minutes left when he made those changes. which is strange considering we were the home side.
  11. we got plenty of option at fullback, raylor, perch, simpson, fergie, santon, tavernier, anita, even saylor and jonas can play there. yeh i know not many of them are world class, but we are nowhere near the finance of a top4 side yet. our midfield is decent enough, with bigi, anita, abeid, marveax, tiote, cabaye , amalfitano, vuckic, hba, jonas, oberdong as a midfield of 5 or 3 combination, these players are decent. upfront is where we lack strength for a 2 man strike force, because ba and cisse are too similar. we just need to utilize the players properly. with the strikers we got it should be one man up top supported by two wide men either side of him. why pardew does not like this idea i will never know.
  12. reason for his excellent shot blocks, he can play as a centre back, thats where he started as boy and got moved upfield because it was too easy for him.
  13. a moment of magic, but he was just as shit as everyone else during the first 45mins
  14. from what i seen of them both at ACON last they were appalling, they both started in a 4-4-2
  15. ba and cisse are top players but they are the same, they make the same runs , take up same spaces, thats why im baffled why they both start all the time in a 4-4-2
  16. why pardew waited 5 minutes left to make those changes i really don't know
  17. takes two to tangle, cabaye has nobody to pass to. our players are too lazy to run into space to receive a ball. huge gaps in left taken on the field.
  18. no urgency in our play, corners, freekicks and especially throwings, just hurry and take them, you're a goal down, overpaid turds. also tired of this 4-4-2 we are leaving huge spaces between attack and midfield and midfield and defence. none of our players are taking up them spaces and running between the lines. we just got 3 parallels lines of men along the pitch with huge spaces left unfilled, really poor
  19. pardew doesnt give the fans enough credit. he probably thinks if the home fans dont see two up front then they will think the team is playing a bit defensive.
  20. he here's until the end of the season now,.maybe longer. lets just give the lad some support yeah. getting bored of the slagging of this limited footballer, yes we know he's shit.
  21. reasonably content with this window, only because it could have been a lot worse , a whole lot worse.
  22. this cumbersome kid is made of glass, talented but fragile.
