Funniest thing about how lucky he was to inherit a very well drilled defence is how much of last season he spent complaining about the team being too defensive even though it allowed him to get enough jammy wins to stay up, now the Rafa drills have started to be forgotten and we are conceding basic goals we'll see how lucky he can be this season.

I'm not sure anyone has every praised ASM for his defensive contribution. Funny how many are suddenly out of the woodwork and are like YEAAAH TOLD YOU ASM WAS SHIT. He's clearly our most exciting attacking player, however yes his defensive contribution was shocking today. We should also have known they would be stretching play out wide and should never have let him be so exposed by a very exciting young left back who just tore into Chelsea previous game.

Yep. It may be difficult to write a rule that makes sense around intent, but even as a stopgap how about unless the handball prevents a clear goal it is an indirect free kick in the box, then just work out a proper handball law while that stops all these silly pens

Ignoring the actual wording of the rule, and setting aside the difficulty of making a rule to suit, penalties should punish using your hands to stop a goal or gain a significant advantage to discourage that. Penalties are waaaaaaay too severe a punishment for balls pinballing off arms randomly to no benefit to anyone.
