Good call actually, shocking that no teams followed suit and realised how readily Man U's defence can be bullied until Everton.
-
to be fair think that's the point of financial fair play, no idea how man city are going to manage it (probably wriggle through on the rule that if you're making solid moves in right direction rule)

Player of the Season : Colo Most Disappointing Player : Tiote, only because I expected better from him this season, but still played brilliantly at times, hope more consistent at times. Obertan didn't quite know what to expect from him so isn't quite so disappointing in away Best Game Attended : Wigan home oddly, just cos went with best made...and I managed to miss all the amazing games Best Result : 3-0 against Man (h) Utd Goal Of The Season: Ben Arfa Blackburn Best Signing: Cabaye, he's a player we can build the team around Best Prospect: Santon Best Solo Performance: Ben Arfa vs West Brom.

Kompany is a likeable guy actually
-
appalling defending there lol
-
I'd be happy with a midfield of Tiote Cabaye Sigursson
-
Well going on potential yes but Jonas has impressed me more centrally than on wing. Want the left wing to carry more threat.
-
I hope we really do get everything done early. If we are to lose a big player lets make sure the deal is done sooner than later and then we can replace. As for best 11 krul Debuchey Douglas Collo Santon Tiote Diame HBA Cabaye Marveaux Cisse

That Ferguson got his team so close actually. A team that seems both desperately in need of a rebuild and still winning a ridiculous number of games, while rarely looking that impressive. Wenger arguably has done a more impressive feat this season. That seemed a dog of a team start of season, and yet to get third is very impressive, all without arguably their best midfielder in Wilshere.

cheeky bid for sessegnol just for shits and giggles?
-
I love that after the amazing MON effect they only finished 2 points ahead of Wigan
-
That pretty much everyone seemed to forget how to defend this season
-
Cisse being much better than even my high expectations were of him. He had no right to score so many goals
-
Ben Arfa actually getting into Pardew's starting 11 eventually

I think there is also a problem with Man City that is a problem in a lot of teams crammed with attacking talent, where there is often a huge lack of width when you have really creative wingers who want to cut inside and shoot themselves, however it does help teams park the bus. (barca have had a similar malaise this season) and partially why Man U have been able to keep up with them with ostensibly a weaker squad with fewer creative players, their system pretty much guarantees plenty of balls are going to get into the box, and often with less time to organise behind. It's a system that fails against an organised pressing side (hence Man U's poor record in Europe this season and against City themselves) but will win most league games against awed opposition that City struggled to away. Watching the last 10 mins of City game what was distinctive was the same that happened to Barca against Chelsea, obviously there were players there plenty of players there who could shoot from distance, when QPR lining up on edge of box, but City players do not want to be responsible for hoofing it over the bar and giving up possession as that could cause breakaway, hence going for the tap in. I call this "just fucking shoot" syndrome as htat was what i was screaming at barca vs chelsea all the time lol Imo wingers with pace who might actually go outside would be a good addition.

Did Rayo survive though? That's pretty awesome

Just going for players i've seen enough, no point for bit part players Krul - 8 - if learned to pass it out would have had 9 or so, nothing wrong with any other part of his game Raylor - 7 - Limited in ability but did an admirable job for a lot of the season, some good free kicks and worked hard Santon - 7 - Buckets of potential but not finished article yet. Had some great games though, the future Saylor - 8 - Very very solid while involved, hope he recovers from the injury well and as much in form Collo - 10 - Brilliantly reliable all season, would have liked some goals but oh well Williamson -8 - Grew into the position, played very well towards end of season, had his shakey moments too Perch - 7 - Terrible first half but solid at business end of season. Simpson - 5 - Works very hard, can't fault his attitude on the pitch but has also sharpened a view of him not being up to scratch Tiote - 7 - very stop start season, injuries haven't helped, there have certainly been a fair few amazing performances where he would pop up everywhere and completely dominate midfield, but also some where he'd disappear or just give the ball away too often. If he could stay longer in the team am confident he'd be consistently back to old self. Cabaye - 8 - Frustratingly tethered at times to duties at back of field, and needs to keep is temper in check at times, but has been outstanding at others. His performance against stoke was magnificent and if he can reach that standard more regularly next season it will be incredible. Guthrie - 7 - Played very well at times, not quite able to match the workrate or impose himself like Cabaye though Jonas - 8 - Tough to mark as has lacked penetration at times, or disappeared, but has had some very very good performances too. Played some excellent defensive work on left, and being a water carrier in the middle. Ben Arfa - 9 - Know bit high for someone who had basically half a season, but it's no coincidence imo that our storming form of the second half of season was when he really found his feet. His performance against West Brom away was a season highlight. When he's good he's very good, well better than anyone else in the league good. Obertan - 5 - Not good enough, hope we do either manage to get rid of him or perform some kind of Perch style transformation on him but a flop Best - 6 - Worked very hard first half of the season, but like Raylor worked very hard but limited. Still hard done by in a way. Shola - 7 - Mackem slaying apart played well often when running down clock, holding up the ball, passing not too bad, still quite a few lazy offside performances too Ba - 9 - His second half of the season dip shouldn't eclipse how amazing he was first half of season. Brilliant player who can score out of nothing. Cisse - 10 - Similarly, incredible player.

I was pretty jealous of the kid when Cabaye hugged him
-
It was completely out of order but assaults a bit strong like
-
Jinxed by inclusion in french squad!
-
Cahill was just jealous of the Dreamboats looks

Transfers or no transfers, what do the team need to work on to make sure we keep it going 1. More resolve once we go behind We never once came to win after going behind, fortunately we didn't go behind too often but this is perhaps the most worrying thing about our squad. We also tended to concede more goals once one goes in, presumably because of heads dropping somewhat. If we can arrest this then we wouldn't have those slightly embarrassing scorelines that crippled our goal difference this season. 2. Passing We have shown what we can do when we pass it around and play good football, but the problem is that we would sometimes switch between 'systems' and lose all passing accuracy in an attempt to find a plan b. Lets get some good training drills in and get everyone comfortable passing it on the floor, particulaly Krull who needs to launch attacks along the ground rather than punting it up-field. 3. Set-pieces We haven't scored anywhere near enough from set pieces, our defenders should have had way more headed goals than they did. We've scored some lovely free kicks but have we actually scored a header from one? Anyone got any others?

Yeah,we seemed to struggle to slow a game down and keep the ball to kill the momentum of the other team, hence often conceeding several goals in a row at times.
