If he had any pace suspect he'd be prolific, he has the skills for scoring just not the speed to beat defenders and diligently defends lots of the game, and thus rarely gets into the box. An enigma.

To be fair to best when Ben Arfa first burts past 2 players (15 secs) Best quickly turns for a run, there's a very good through pass open as blackburn defender is going the other way and would never have defended it, so credit to best for quickly seeing that. Then you think oh he's blown it they catch up as he comes to cut inside then he completely flummoxes them like they're not there

I don't think he's terrible, he's just very variable, and I think made to look bad by Obertan ahead of him. I'd prefer a new player there because I think we have struggled to have threat down flanks and his failings are made to show. Simpson has awful games, but decent ones too. I don't quite buy he's terrible though, he's better than Obertan, or Raylor has been at left back.

he isn't a player whose going to make many chances for himself imo, he's either going to hold up play and set up someone else, or poach a goal set up by someone else. Probably needs to regain some confidence, need him next few games.

Vaughn's a decent striker of the ball, bit silly to write off as luck. O'Neil playing him more will improve them a lot, tied together that Blackpool side last season, Bruce was a huge idiot to leave him on the bench.

Ba in negotiating the West Ham contract knows what he's after in contracts and hasn't signed any old thing. He could well have forced through a release clause, though suspect it will be similar to the West Ham one in case we got relegated. Ba obviously knows exactly what he's doing and as such don't believe he's going to be 'tapped up', he probably knows exactly how good he's been and that a top team could bid big for him or whatever. All I'm saying is I suspect it's probably up to Ba more than anyone, and I for one am crossing fingers he doesn't want the fuss of changing clubs again so soon, trying to fit into a new team and hoping the medical team are as accommodating as ours. Our french contingent has hopefully made it an ideal club. Of course it could all come down to money, he seems too honest to have run around pretending he's immediately blindly loyal to the club (he was hardly greatly loyal to West Ham, and we probably shouldn't pretend he's 'loyal' to us).
