Our tactic of pinging long balls to Gayle was lifting like. Ream was either easily heading them clear or Lascelles/Shelvey were just pinging them straight out of play. They were playing such a high line at times we could've easily been threading through balls for Gayle to run onto, although not sure his hammy is 100% yet as he was definitely feeling it at some points throughout todays game. Hopefully the 90 minutes helped with the match fitness aspect ahead of Birmingham next week.

He bossed it today when he came on. Noticed too that whenever we play a long diagonal pass to him he does a quick check over his shoulder, creates a bit of space and then flicks it on perfectly for the winger/striker to run onto. Mitrovic could learn a thing or two from him instead of keeping his eyes on the defender the whole time the ball is in the air then getting outjumped for the header. Quality finish too. Has to be him and Gayle up top for the Wigan/Burton games.

Cairney completely got under his skin today, was always on him and never gave him space which was frustrating Shelvey even after 15/20 minutes. Seemed to just give up after that apart from a 5 minute spell when we pulled the goal back. Stupid challenge for the yellow too.
