They were on a dangerous slide under Ranieri, you can argue the players didn't give a shit and that's wrong but the reality was they were heading towards relegation. I think the right decision was made, although i'm not particularly convinced Shakespeare is the right answer. He probably deserves a chance but at the same time you could see him struggling very easily. Big call to make.

Villa have only lost 3 at home all season. Aye, that's not debatable. They've also had a lot of s*** draws at home which obscures that stat slightly. But that's totally different to stating their entire form since February has been excellent. It'll be a tough game for Brighton, but if they turn up they could easily beat them. That's fair enough but it should be mentioned that a draw is good enough too(assuming we win), we don't need Villa to win.

I have personally thought we should sign him all season so no, 6m gets you f*** all in this day and age as evidenced by the fact Mitrovic cost double that. If you think we can do a lot better for that amount of money for someone who could likely contribute quite a lot to the squad then fair enough but I doubt it. I think some of you are quick to forget how much trash we have had at this club, we can and probably will do a lot worse. Also people who say we can do better are not really giving it enough thought. Wide players are notoriously difficult to buy because not only do they need a combination of pace ideally, but also end product and a work ethic. Think back to how many we have managed to sign successfully in the last few years. Atsu isn't the finished product but he's got at least two of those attributes in finishing and pace. If we can get a better player I'm all for it, but we haven't got one at the moment. I personally want to see two wingers come in, him and someone else. Get rid of Gouffran and assuming that mystery Winger is actually good it wouldn't be a bad 3 to choose from along with Ritchie.

You sarcastically put it down But he's a big reason Chelsea was so s**** last season and why Conte was quick to drop him. He's old and it happens to everyone, he's not good enough to be a PL defender anymore. I don't rate what we have that highly tbh, but that just says how much he's dropped off.

Poor striking instincts and lack of finishing ability are pretty big handicaps to have for a centre forward like. We can't carry players in the premier next season, it got us relegated last time round. Not saying it isn't, i'd obviously want a quality CF if we can get one. Rafa isn't going to magically get us to sign players like Icardi or Batshauyi We need to be realistic it's going to be a couple of years of steady improvement before we can even begin think of that.

Disagree with that, teams give opponents space in the PL all the time. Besides considering we'll likely go into most games as the underdog even if they didn't we'll likely be given more opportunities to counter attack than we have been afforded this season anyway.
