I wouldn't say people get hard over it tbh, just it has more offensive potential than Gouffran and Ritchie. Obviously hasn't turned out that way for what ever reason but it's not because Gouffran is better.

We have been awful since January, the manager has to take a sizable chunk of flak for that imo. Because he's Rafa Benitez doesn't mean he's perfect, hopefully we'll still go up and he'll be backed in the summer and we'll go from there.

Arsenal fans I know reckon he's really bad now, can't stop anyone getting past him and genuinely looks past it at that level.
-
Unless Hazard can do something i wouldn't be surprised if this is a 0-0.
-
Still would like him alongside Clark if he gets back again this season, Lascelles has been afforded loads more opportunities and made just as many if not more errors. Still stand by what i said before and Rafa has his reasons obviously but i don't feel he's been given much of a chance until the last few weeks.

Seen it but without Ray Hudson's commentary, i feel like i'm not ready for this.

Didn't watch the game but I find it utterly ridiculous Dortmund were forced to play the game a less than 24 hours after what happened. There's no way the players were mentally in the right place to play a game of football.

He's never been that good tbh, average mid table clogger which is why he's still at Stoke. Still remember the times when Cisse lost him for goals like he was an amateur. So yeah I'm not excited as most seem to be. I agree his type is what we need but someone of higher quality who doesn't get pulled out of position so easily would be better. I don't watch enough football anymore to know who we could get or who would be available but I do know he's not good enough or change anything substantially.
-
Looks pretty average mid table to me, lets not go nuts because Arsenal are shite. They shouldn't be fighting relegation but no manager would get them top 10 or anything either.

On the pitch it's definitely all down to Wenger, i mean they have bought some very good players since they started this splurge with Ozil and they are arguably worse than they were when it was 10 scrubs and Van Persie. To me that says Wenger has declined significantly as a coach, he was taking them to the top 4 every year with a lot worse players than this. He's been past his sell by date for something like 3 seasons and it's finally catching up to him on an embarassing level. I honestly don't think Spurs and Liverpool have some amazing players but in 2017 Pochettino and Klopp are far superior coaches to Wenger and it shows, i said this when Pardew was our manager but when everyone underperforms it's down to the coach and not the players and the signs are as clear as they were then with us. He was an amazing manager in his day but he's clearly not good enough anymore, wouldn't be surprised if multiple players improve drastically as long as the replacement isn't some Pardew to McClaren type BS.
-
Nah, Wenger is just clueless now. No way are the players available worse than the likes of Denilson, Senderos etc etc.
-
I think all things considered a 433 would be more suitable than a 442 tbh, but there's not much debating it either way.
-
Not a flat 442 no but i'm pretty sure there are teams that play variations of it.

This part is especially true It's part of the reason i stopped reading twitter and such like.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League
Mole_Toonfan replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
Huddersfield are done now, just a matter of time till both us and Brighton are mathematically clear. -
He's targeting the right players going off that, not that anyone should be surprised but nice to see it.
-
Refs have been fucking awful all season, they honestly make PL refs look absolutely amazing by comparison. It might be the number 1 reason I want promotion tbh.
-
I'd rather have him than Mitrovic but he is massively overrated, other than his first season where he was excellent he's not been good at all. He definitely wouldn't be worth the ridiculous amount of money that Palace would command, pretty sure you can get similar standard for a lot less. Before anyone says " WHO THEN !? " fuck off it's not my job, but i don't see why you'd need to spend 30m plus to get a striker who might not even get 15 goals as he hasn't done that since his first season.

I'd argue all things considered that we probably need both. give me an example of the experienced CB, presume you're talking forrin experience? Nah I'm saying that we need an experienced and young CB with promise tbh. It's not an either/or situation. no i got that yeah, i just wondered who you would see as an experienced player within our reach for that position Honestly i haven't watched a lot of football in the last two seasons outside our games since Rafa came, so i'm not sure i'm in the position to say much tbh. I trust to Rafa to get it right though, sorry i couldn't give a better answer.
