I think they could if we actually pressed as a team, but coaching that into the players would take time and even if the coaches had the nous to pull it off it's something you teach the players during pre season and not after an abysmal start bordering on crisis. Don't really think we've got the players to press high at all. Too weak at the back and susceptible to longer balls. I think they could play together, if they showed any defensive appetite for the game. Sissoko defends selectively and Wijnaldum is adapting. Why i said as a team.... if you press properly then their should be very space in between the lines and thus difficult for teams to look up and play a pass. Sure you might be susceptible to a ball over the top but if you are doing it right there should be very little space between each line ( aka defense, midfield and attack) We can't do it now obviously, but i think it could work but it would take time. If you look at say Dortmund, i wouldn't particularly say Subotic and Hummels are ideal for a pressing game either in a lot of ways but hey it works because they press properly and don't allow for much space in between each section of the team and there is rarely an occasion when there's more than 30 yards between the CB and the CF. I'm talking in hypothetical here though as it's obvious it wouldn't work straight away and for something like this it would have had to been tested in pre season.

But i was told on here earlier in the summer that Bilic is shit?

Of course it makes a difference man, a DM who don't know how to position himself and leaves gaps for the opposition to exploit regularly is one of the most important things a DM should do.

Aye, but he just lost his bottle and f***ed another decision by dropping Anita for Colback Playing Colback over Anita isn't some catastrophic decision. They offer the exact same thing. they really don't EDIT: and the point is more that anita was clearly central to his 'playing from the back' style and he dropped it at the first sign of trouble for colback who simply isn't as good in that role They really do. They offer very little consistent presence and very little in the way of passing range, they're both a bit pointless. If anything, the best thing they do when they drop back is allow more space for Colo and Mbemba to distribute. The latter has more zip in his passing than Colback and Anita combined. Don't know why you completely ignore the fact Colback has absolutely no positional sense what so ever, Anita may not be great but at least he knows how to position himself unlike Colback who leaves absolutely massive gaps.

Those players have to be good too though, that's why i dismiss it as i don't want any old rubbish just because they have a british passport. Most of the names that get brought up are fucking crap.

Couldn't care less about rolling over without giving a fight tbh, what's more concerning is we are just shit and don't even look dangerous.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford

10 wins in 33 games, not surprising really. -
Has Klopp actually said he wants a challenge/project? all i have seen is that Honigstein regurgitate his nonsense in the same way Balague does.
-
Kruse and Kramer were incredibly important for them, still i don't think anyone expected them to be like this. Though like Disco said it might be one of those endings, Dortmund got better as a result of losing Klopp maybe Gladbach can do similar.

Dortmund look so good this season, probably the best football i have seen so far in terms of pure entertainment. It's a shame they were so shit last year because with the way they are playing they would have been a dark horse in the CL IMO.

Never actually watched him when he was playing in Ligue 1 but he was always hyped to the moon so this doesn't surprise me. Also Lyon don't genuinely produce scrubs.
-
He looked absolutely s*** any time they played anyone even slightly less s*** in Europe Aye didn't stop him getting hyped to the moon by the scots though.
-
I did always wonder why Celtic always got battered by shit teams if he was so good....

Amazing what happens when you play a progressive CM and 3 forward thinking players behind a competent striker.

Nothing wrong with slow build up as long you increase the tempo in the final third. Trouble is we don't
