It's controversial but I honestly don't see it being a big deal if Shelvey doesn't get picked. Lascelles is a different story entirely, at least you can put Alli in midfield (you shouldn't but you can) but with Lascelles the alternatives are mostly all terrible.

Except the scoring and actually making the right decisions in the penalty area sure. I really do question anyone who says this how much they have really watched him play, he's terribly wasteful and consistently makes the wrong decision closer to goal. He's pretty good in build up play and works hard but personally i don't see why we would want someone like that considering how bad we have been at finishing chances. Would he be better than Gayle etc etc? yeah but so would the large majority of the league tbh. Also the consistent game time thing doesn't really apply as he played way more than he deserved to under Wenger before they signed Aubameyang.

You are, he's a woeful manager man, shockingly under qualified for what was once the premier job in English football. They apparently want to raise £170m from selling Rose, Alderweireld, Wanyama and Dembele. They can do great things with that money, without needing to sell a star. Spurs issue is the players they want either don't want to join them or they just don't pay enough wages to get them. Even if they got that amount (i'm skeptical) they'll struggle to get the players necessary as the players they'll want to get will be at clubs with higher prestige or pay more. Best thing they can hope for is they sign someone like Salah who while talented wasn't really established to the level he is now.

Maybe not on the front foot but they'll ask to build to play through their CBs which Rafa won't ask of him for obvious (and right) reasons so the weak on the ball stuff will never ever be noticed under his management.
