I don't understand the people who are critical with the goal tbh, it's probably the best goal Ronaldo has ever scored. The timing, the technique etc etc is absolutely perfection, most goals of that type are usually nowhere near as technically impressive.

I for one think it would be great to see Pardew manage Zlatan in LA tbh.

It's not just the quality striker that's been missing, most of who Rafa has tried behind the striker haven't been good enough either and before Kenedy arrived all winger options were average at best imo. In fairness Ritchie has stepped up since then but before that he and the others weren't good enough, it meant that those behind them kept the team afloat while the front 4 repeatedly under performed. I'm sure most teams in the bottom half probably think if they added 4 players they'd be looking at Europe too.

If he wasn't for our decidedly crap frontline we'd be a comfortable top half team imo.

It's recent form and results, Spain have been pretty bad at international tournaments since Xavi finished. I think Del Bosque was out of his depth once the first cycle of players ended and too slow to get the newer players in. France haven't been great at a tournament since 2006. Got to a final last time but were pretty ordinary throughout really Everyone was at that tournament really, I agree mind.

Wew, poor result for all those superstars that Messi apparently gets to play with Well they're all out injured or not called up. Di Maria, Aguero, Dybala, Icardi, none played. That being said they should be doing far better. Even if they did call up those players who gets them the ball? That's been the problem for years, their midfield is trash which is why Messi always drops so deep for them. Genuinely can't see this WC being any different.
