  1. Personally the one to take over from Messi and Ronaldo probably doesn't exist yet, I suspect both will go another 5 years so the likes of Neymar will be approaching 30 then anyway.

  3. Not to mention the contenders are better now than they were that season. The two are not comparable in the slightest.
  4. I'm not particularly surprised tbh, how many times have they won it since Ronaldo has been there? Like twice? It's more of a surprise when they win it. Not saying they won't mind as it's only September but I'd always consider Barcelona the favourite when Messi is there even if I believe in Madrid more for the CL.
  5. Funniest thing is Phil Neville quote is what triggered Ian Of all the things.
  6. Tbf all I said is they don't have the talent to contend for a title, not top 4. Them finishing top 4 wouldn't surprise me. But that isn't Klopp's fault and I doubt there's a manager alive who could make them title contenders with these players.
  7. That i agree with. Also HTT, i don't disagree that they would want him just that he wouldn't make the difference that would be required to win a league title. I just think you are really underestimating the talent difference between them and the other contenders and as good as Rafa is i don't think he can do it. The rest well let's just agree to disagree.
  8. If Rafa couldn't win the league with Xabi Alonso, Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano what makes you think he can win it with Henderson, Emre Can, Wijnaldum and Firmino? Not for me, not a chance in hell. I just think you are vastly overrating their squad. This isn't a Klopp problem, this is a Liverpool have a vastly inferior squad to City, Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd problem. They overachieved to get 4th as it is. Rafa wouldn't change shit as it attains to winning the league, they just don't have enough talent to compete realistically. I think the 4 names i mentioned already says it all, not one of the 4 teams mentioned would want them. Like i said, if anyone wanted him out ( not saying they do) they'd realise pretty quickly that a lot of the players they have are not that good and being asked to perform well beyond their actual ability.
  9. They need to be careful what they wish for, outside the front 3 that Liverpool team is painfully average. I can see getting significantly worse if they sack him. Most of those players are playing well beyond their normal level, there isn't a single midfielder or defender that another top 4 contending team would sign on that team. Plus i bet those people weren't saying this when they qualified for the CL, fans are unbelievably fickle.
  10. You know something the club doesn't? There we have it.
  11. Neither do I but as I understand it he's not first choice and Brighton mainly played a second team yesterday.
  12. Good luck to him, doubt he's actually going to play this weekend though.
  13. No one is determining anything tbf, all it is is a pass which leads to a goalscoring opportunity. A pass to an assist so to speak, something that Xavi was king of. Doon is right in the sense that doing that type of play consistently is more indicative of good player than assists are. Although like all stats it's all relative and should be taken under the proper context.
  14. No one uses them properly or in context though. That's the problem.
  15. The type of player he is he will inherently stay under the radar tbh, look how long it took the average football to see that Busquets is fucking class. Trouble is once they figure it out, they won't stop talking about him.
  16. That rule seems.... stupid. I can understand it for the bigger clubs, but for clubs like Celta i imagine it's a struggle to fill each week.
  17. It's actually quite funny tbh, what's the point of buying loads of attacking midfielders if the CMs you buy are utterly garbage. As critical as i am of the likes of Shaqiri, Jese, Bojan etc etc, how stupid can you be to have CMs like Fletcher or Whelan behind them. Utterly pointless.
  18. As far as fullbacks go Mendy is a huge f***ing unit tbf. If i never watched him and someone told me he's a CB i'd believe them.
  19. Well it is a horribly built squad, that i definitely agree with. When you look at us, we have a solid midfield pairing with a solid back 4 behind it, pace and guile on the wings and work rate upfront. There's a lot of things we lack but we are definitely balanced, something the like of Stoke can't really say.
  20. While that's all true, i think the perception is that the gap is bigger than it actually is. Basically ignoring the managers i don't think the gap in talent is as big as people like Hughes would like to believe. It's the same with West Ham, sure Bilic is doing a shit job i get the feeling people overhype the talent he has at his disposal.
  21. On their talent, i have said this before but a lot of them are nowhere near as talented as perceived. Just because they have a bunch of young talents which failed to become anything doesn't mean they have a super talented team. I don't feel like any of them are well beyond Stoke, even Shaqiri has done fuck all with his career since joining Bayern and was an utter failure at Inter. On the flip side because we have players who were not massively hyped as young players doesn't mean they are inherently worse either.
  22. What the fuck is that supposed to mean anyway? also he's low-key admitting he's shit.
  23. Aye agree with that, if nothing else he's consistent and i doubt he's going to make massive mistakes but there are aspects to his game which i have no doubt Rafa will want to upgrade on.
