Funny thing about Shaqiri is you just know he's going to do fuck all for the next dozen games. -

I think he's been pretty sharp most of the season tbh, it's just his overall end product has been lacking. No sign of him being a natural/predatory finisher but he's really making a positive contribution to our forward play. Not just his finishing but i feel like his passing has been hit/miss too, but his work rate and overall contribution to the team off the ball has been very good most of the season imo. -

Amazes me that such a player was buried on a team's bench, while the likes of Colback was in line to be starting every week We didn't really have a bunch of competition for Merino either. Crazy the talent that is wasting away out there, just from being in the wrong situation at the wrong time. Pinched him from under Athletic's noses didn't we? Yeah, that's my point ... not exactly a ton of competition, as it was just Bilbao we went up against, and they didn't seem to be much of a challenge tbh. Because Rafa convinced him In fairness it's not exactly surprising, the lad barely played at Dortmund. -

Yeah, but happy we at least managed to put one away and establish the lead. Just need to come out with the same mentality as the 1st half. Obviously, there's chances to come in this game i reckon regardless. -

We should be at least 3-0 up, hope it doesn't come back to bite us. -

No reason to have two fullbacks on the bench, especially when Manquillo to play both sides. -

Rafa most likely doesn't rate him Or it's much more likely that having two CMs on the bench in this game is probably better than having two wingers. -
Kaka man Eagerly awaiting your thoughts on Bucks winning the championship considering it's about as likely as us signing players.

No idea what he's like for Palace but not covering enough grass isn't exactly the criticism i'd label at Cabaye. There's plenty but that isn't one of them.

Questioning his physicality but thinking he's good on the ball

Signing Sigurdsson for 50m to play him out of position and not take set pieces. But seriously i was quite underwhelmed by Everton when i saw them on opening day, all the concerns about lacking pace and balance ( as Foluwashola just mentioned) are all coming to pass. Wouldn't even mind it if the players were actually good enough for it to not matter but none of them actually are.

They are another West Ham IMO, their team is nowhere near as good as people think and most of their players are massively overhyped because they have been failed young talents at some point. Which is why they underperform every year, sure the managers are shit but it's not the full story IMO. Even if Benitez was their manager i doubt they'd do that much better tbh. -

Has he? Always thought he looked bang average at best and barely better than Dummett. I can think of a lot more things to be annoyed at. -
It's way too early to be jumping to any sort of conclusions with regards to Barca, considering Madrid handled them pretty easily and Juventus were missing half a team. Besides it's not like Messi hasn't single handledly won games by himself in the group stage before.

I worry that Shelvey would make Merino do far too much defensively tbh, honestly any combination you like has it's faults that we are going to have to live with in the short term.
