Anita and Marveaux are not average They are made to look that way by the managers abject tactics..... besides what blame should Carr take? Its not his fault our board is cheap and our manager doesn't have a clue how to get the best out of technically good players

It's easier to look exciting when your an impact player for a big team in the last 20 minutes when players are tired and there are more spaces. I honestly have always thought he was a highlights player and never will be consistent enough to be good enough for anyone in the top 6. Not even substance for me to rate him as high as the media did, there was a reason Man City never started him and you are starting to see why now.

Thing is i agree but i would have no problem with long ball if it suited us but the fact it is it doesn't.... That's the mind boggling thing that he's persisting with something that obviously doesn't work..... he buys players like Anita, Cisse, Marveaux, Cabaye, Ben Arfa and many others and persists with long ball. I just don't understand it.

Nope it won't magically change the problems are too deep now to simply change the system and expect things to magically get better. We don't have the players available for it to work anyway. I was just saying we didn't long ball much during that period and the style of play and system was spot on with the players we had so it's not necessarily true that what ever system we play we will always long ball. Our problems are not really system based anymore, well it is but it's not the main issue.... the players look like they have never seen each other before in their lifes we have forgotten any basic fundamentals. I was just disagreeing that through out Pardew's tenure we have always played long ball no matter the system because it's really not true.

Don't remember us playing it long much during that winning run tbh. In any case it's not just the system that was spot on during that run it was the style of play too.... in both cases Pardew has shit the bed this season.
