  1. If you have ESPN then you could watch it on Sky Player but then again what would be the point you could just watch it on TV

  3. It is still tbh, even if Aguero was injured then surely there's a more attacking option than Milner to bring on

I think that's just human nature to be honest. I can sympathise because I'm terrible at it myself - if anyone criticises this post for instance I'm liable to have a right strop. Or maybe sulk. Shit post.
  5. Evra has been bad for 3+ years now but honestly these things are always based on hype and names and playing for teams in the limelight. They are more popularity contests than anything tbh.

I'm honestly not bothered about that, failing to strengthen is not the reason we have lost Swansea and West Ham, drawn to Villa, Reading and Sunderland. Those are games we should be winning with the players we have, there's no point buying players if you don't know a style of play and system that fits the players you have. Honestly i'd take buying no players in January if it meant Pardew got his head out of his arse and found a system and a style of play that suits the team.
  7. Drogba has it in the bag tbh but i'd like to see Demba get top 3.

It's not just about the system Alan, it's about style of play and the philosophy you want this football club to have and having said style of play to suit the players you have. Sort it out man.
  9. They've already won the group. Think he wants City to be bottom.
  10. El Shaarawy really is carrying Milan on his back, no mean feat for a player that young. Gotze man one of my favourite players to watch if he can stay fit he's going to be ridiculous one day.

The thing is Inochi, IMO (and maybe this is where we diverge in footballing philosophy terms ), results eventually follow performances. It may take five games, it may take ten, it may take forty-eight () but a failure to address our inability/unwillingness to control games - particularly against weaker opposition (the Norwichs, QPRs, Wolves, Blackburns etc) will begin to effect results too, because any streak of results which isn't driven by performance is very, very vulnerable to a loss of momentum*. I fear for our immediate future. [* - except for those teams who wholeheartedly and unashamedly commit to grinding - ie. Stoke, who consequently also have a glass ceiling on how good they can ever be - something we do not want] Within reason, I just like to see us winning games and being successful. It's likely because of this that I'm not overly concerned with the particulars of last season. I don't particularly fear for our future, because the evidence is there, from our past, that we are well equipped to perform admirably in this league. I expect results and performances to improve. I do worry, however, that some will never be happy. Agree that some will never be happy. Think most would be if we fulfilled our potential. What is our potential? With our current squad, that is. Pardew said we could challenge 4th () so something between that and 8th. If we played to the level we all know we can i don't see why it's funny... it's not like Spurs and Arsenal are miles ahead. We are just playing well below our level this season for a number of reasons which are well documented.

First time we used 4-3-3 wasn't it. The best footballing (first) half we played all season that was. We had experimented with it a few times i think, used against QPR too. It's quite obvious it only really works to optimal level with Ba,Cisse, Ben Arfa otherwise it falls down for obvious reasons. I'm not prepared to say Marveaux-Cisse-Ben Arfa won't ever work either though because it failed against Everton. It failed against Everton because we hoofed not sure how we can expect a front 3 based upon speed, movement, dribbling, passing to work when Williamson lumps the ball in the sky. This is why we need find a philosophy that fits the players we have because there's no point playing 4-3-3 if we are going to hoof it. Style of play > System > Players and then build the club around that style of play and system.

Collapse against Fulham with Best on the left, Shola CF and Guthrie instead of Tiote......
  14. Benítez teams are all based on fitness, workrate and tactical discipline. Chelsea have bought Oscar, Hazard, Marin... they are moving away from that direction. Not denying that just Benitez in general as a coach i agree he's not what Chelsea need.
  15. Tbf to Benitez Liverpool was consistently top 4 under him and since he left they have not even got close. I personally think he's better than given credit for, league aside he won everything there is to win at Liverpool and at Valencia he won La Liga twice( no mean feat at a club who is not one of the big 2) and at Inter he was sacked in November i think it was hardly enough time.

I'm not saying it was fantastic but performance wise we was never this bad last season, except the Christmas and New Year period when we had a shit load of injuries and suspensions to deal with as well as AFCON. We might have been direct but it was never this shit to be considered the "norm".

Also at West Ham i may be wrong here but i'm pretty sure towards the end of his tenure that the owner was getting involved with first team affairs and undermining Pardew. None the less it's way to early to be taking about this, does he need to up his game? without a doubt he doesn't have a clue tactically at the moment but he's obviously earned some time to sort it out.
  18. He's said he's taking a year out. He's taking a year off from football to spend time with his family Oh you guys. Come on now. You think he's going to go back on his word then? pretty sure he could have come out and got a job by now if he wanted it. Pretty obvious he wants a break from football and won't come back till Summer at the earliest.
  19. Simeone was class in Italy too, looks a quality young manager
