Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Yep because we have an abundance of creativity and players who can actually pass the ball in our team don't we We have played 20 through balls so far this season with Cabaye and Ben Arfa producing more than half of them he clearly isn't the problem despite how desperate you are to finish 12th and have Nolan back instead of European football -
Considering what they have spent the money they have on in last few years i wouldn't be at all concerned tbh.

I wonder if his rapist touch translates into his personal life..... Seriously though, fair play to the lad if he's got that.
-
Hope so doubt it's true mind.

Pretty much every "expert" pundit and commentator at the Euros then haha Honestly i think most of us would do a better job than them "experts" Zlatan is class and always has been.
-
Gago has been outstanding for Argentina in recent months but he really needs a decent back up and partner as Mascherano has looked nowhere near the DM he once was. Maybe Banega can fill the void.
-
Hope FM have not nailed his clause btw because if they have he gets 3.5m of that 7m

Just figured out the problem..... Cisse's Senegalese sweat bands wtf are they? i haven't seen him wear them in f*cking ages.
-
Honestly wouldn't matter if they actually worked together as partners on the pitch as mentioned Cole and Sheringham, Shearer and Bellamy etc etc didn't really get on by the complimented each other perfectly on the pitch. Quite obvious Ba and Cisse don't compliment each other at all.

I'd like to know what we show to players when we sign them Because they always go on about how we play great stuff. What a pile of turd
-
They are not instinct man Diame is someone i would describe as box to box, we was linked with someone i would describe as box to box in Moussa Sissoko. Also Ramires is Chelsea's box to box, Yaya is a fine example of a box to box midfielder. Ok Man Utd don't have one but their needs and the way they are set up is different. All i was saying is someone like Sissoko with Anita or Tiote would be better than Anita and Tiote IMO and the partnership would fit better. Personally we need someone like that in our midfield 3 to link the attacks between the DM who ever it maybe and Cabaye or a deep playmaker type i'm not at confident in Anita-Tiote-Cabaye working well in the long term. I think you have to have that link man between Cabaye and the DM whether he links by lung bursting runs through the heart of midfield like Yaya does or deep playmaking who links by passing through the midfield i think we are missing someone like that. If Tiote or Anita can do one of those roles than fairplay but i'm not sure it work so well as a 3 if i'm honest in the long term. Which is why i keep saying that i feel Anita was bought to replace Tiote rather than play alongside him.

Newcastle United vs Swansea City - Saturday 17th November, 3pm

see what i put in the other thread, really just 3 up front with loads of movement and a willingness of each of them to drift wide to create and exploit space, taking turns making it bloody difficuilt to mark them out the game. the movement we've been sadly lacking all season. Completely agree but it's not going to happen ( would love if it did mind ! ) -
Wishful thinking that we will actually use 3 in midfield and not get overrun for once
-
anita has shown at right back thats he's more than just a DM and i'm hoping as he settles in we see the range of passing and showing for the ball that he reputedly did in holland. Yeah i know but the thing is Anita was at his best for Ajax getting the ball off the CB's and starting plays also in some occasions going into the back 4 when Vertonghen made runs forward. Which would obviously mean Tiote would have to be a bit further forward which he really wouldn't be effective in. What i'm really getting at is that i feel Anita or Tiote alongside a box to box midfielder or deep playmaker would be a much better fit instead of Anita and Tiote. Just have the feeling that long term that their compatibility isn't exactly high just like Ba and Cisse's isn't but for different reasons. Obviously it's the best we can do at the moment though.

Ba on the left -
Just like Ba and Cisse i have concerns with Tiote and Anita as a partnership they are both DM's and have the fear of them stepping on each other's toes. Honestly Tiote-Anita-Cabaye is the best partnership we have right for a midfield 3 but honestly long term i don't see it being a fruitful partnership. Jonas was ideal but his form and gone downhill pretty quickly, Ba was ideal for the left of the attack but he seems to only want to play central now and Debuchy seemingly was coming in at RB to add extra width. All 3 major pieces for 4-3-3 to work and 3 seem to have faltered for one reason or another.
-
That's f*cking ridiculous, i suspect that's how teams will get by the FFP rules if Uefa actually enforces them that is.
-
I heard that about diame too none the less he's a different player to anita who i still think was signed because we thought tiote would leave. Diame is more of a box to box midfielder plus the obvious wages issue.
-
I think the environment that Pardew works under ( Ashley and Llambias etc etc) will be the biggest obstacle we would have to over come if we ever sacked him in looking for a replacement. The actual lure of the club won't be an issue.

It's definitely both (player + manager). It's the same with Cisse; not playing to his strengths but he's playing absolutely s*** anyway. Ba's somehow manifested seven goals out of our limp attack so far. Cisse's got no excuses for basic footballing attributes completely abandoning him, in the same way Cabaye's got no excuse for letting his poor mentality getting the better of him and him fading out of games. Agree with that. Some players just aren't pulling their weight and it exacerbates the other problems we're having. For all the criticism about Nolan needing the team built around him there's plenty of talk in here about Cabaye needing something similar. Nope not really but your asking for goals and all i'm saying is playing him in the position he's deployed in when we play with a 3 that he will score goals and has done. He can play deeper the issue at the moment( he does for France to perfection) is that he's playing so deep he's picking the ball up from Williamson and the fact we don't even use the midfield at the moment and it's flying over his head. I don't know what people expect from a central midfielder when we don't even use the midfield at the moment, it's like a Stoke fan having a go at Adam or Whelan as they are not even used. I really don't understand this agenda people have, it's quite obvious the way we play is not suiting the team and how anyone can expect technically gifted players to excel under a stoke style of play is beyond me. -

If you pay attention, my excuses are playing style, system and overall attacking game plan which are restricting our best players.... Not just Cabaye.... everyone. Well except for Ba anyway who is quite blatantly the only player who fits what we are doing at the moment and it shows with his performances. Players only perform when they are given the platform to perform by the tactics and style of play.... you can't expect players like Cisse, Cabaye and Ben Arfa to perform to the best when we are playing like this it's just not possible. Hell replace Cisse with Falcao, Cabaye with Xavi and Ben Arfa with Messi and we wouldn't do any better..... a massive example of this is Messi for Argentina for years they didn't give him the platform to perform and now they do he's performing.... coincidence? nope. Doesn't matter how good you are if you are not given the platform to perform then you won't. -
4-3-3 isn't the magical cure to everything but it for damn sure suits our players better than other system. ( atleast when our best players are fit anyway) There's more issues than just the mere system but it wouldn't hurt to actually find a system that everyone is comfortable with and stick with it which in turn will breed consistency and familiarity instead of chopping and changing every 5 mins in a never ending solution to our woes.

Whose to say he won't? he's our joint 2nd top scorer As i said play him consistently as the most advanced midfielder instead of getting him to take to recieve the ball from the CB's and he will score goals. Anyway he's so much more than just goals but none the less play him in the role he's suppose to be in instead of being a bloody ball winner and he will score and create goals. No coincident he's played better this season when he's been given more freedom. -
