  1. It's unpopular, but i'd rather the power be in the players hands than it being in greedy corporations. To use an example, in the UFC the fighters are disgustingly underpaid and it all filters to the greedy corporations. I don't defend players doing ridiculous stunts like the ones Dortmund's Dembele is doing but i'd rather empower the players than the owners personally. Also i think players are dumb as fuck for signing long contracts like Coutinho did last summer, if you want to keep your options open then sign a shorter contract. If he went to Liverpool and said i only want a 2 year deal do you think Liverpool would say no? i highly doubt it.
  2. He's just like Redknapp " Oh i tried to sign him, yeah lurvely player he is ".
  3. Willian? Who are these few others? He's definitely behind Hazard, Eriksen and De Bruyne, but after them there's not one other attacking midfielder I'd rather have in my team. I can see a case for Mkhitaryan but he hasn't shown enough in this league yet for me. David Silva isn't the same type of player he was a few years ago. I have often made the case over the years that Silva is overrated because he often goes 6-7 games in a row without doing nothing and then 2 or 3 amazing performances. To the point that in their primes Yaya was more impactful but he's better than Coutinho Not having that one Flip, also City's other Silva is better too imo, it's unfashionable because he's s**** in front of goal but i'd rather have Ozil too. Thinking about it, i really struggle to understand Barca's obsession with him. But their history of signings is s**** so there's that. Well Yaya was absolutely outstanding tbf Well obviously, i have just felt like there was always a double standard surrounding Silva. He'd get no ends of praise when he performed excellently and not a word was uttered when he performed badly which happened more than his fans will have you believe. For example that season where he put that ridiculous outside of the right foot through ball against Yanited, he barely performed for the next 3 months and the team needed Tevez to come back and save them from throwing the league away. Lovely player to watch mind and he's obviously better than Coutinho.

  5. City have at least 3 better attacking midfielders than Coutinho by themselves Matter about De Bruyne.
  6. You've moved the goalposts there like. Originally you asked who would get the ball to Mane, Salah and Lallana. Wijnaldum is obviously capable of doing that, you don't need to be a playmaker or even really a creative player to be able to get it into those areas. They're obviously going to weaken themselves by not having him in there, but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as you'd think. Not really i just didn't explain myself very initially with the words i used, also i disagree Wijnaldum is capable tbh. Their midfield as currently set up is nowhere near good enough, they were isolated as a front 3 against bloody Watford. They got away with it up to a point because it's Watford, but in general it's nowhere near good enough. In general if you want to be a good team and have a quality front 3, you will need a midfielder who can make sure said front 3 can maintain pressure and not get isolated. Nobody on that team can do that without Coutinho, i personally don't think Coutinho is as good as some people think but they would obviously need to replace what he provides.
  7. Wijnaldum is good at quite a lot of things, but playmaking and setting up forwards so they are in dangerous positions isn't one of them. Lallana is the only one they'd have who is even decent at it and that's nowhere near enough, what would happen imo in that scenario is Mane being forced to come way too deep to get the ball because the midfield isn't good enough. I'm getting flashbacks to Ben Arfa just thinking about it
  8. Don't agree, if they didn't replace Coutinho whose going to get the front 3 the ball? Henderson and Can? A great front 3 doesn't work without a midfield setting them up.
  9. Mine is Man Utd - Real Madrid - Sevilla - Stoke City. I'm literally a failed wonder kid.
  10. What's this based on? it certainly isn't the performance level since Rafa's been in charge. There's a lot of things to fear with this squad but i really don't think the defence under Benitez, we are hard to break down and extremely well organised. One of the best teams in the league was offering f*** all, until Voldemort decided he wanted to stamp on a player in front of the ref. I really wouldn't worry about the defence tbh, although i would worry about creating chances and relying heavily on Atsu to create something by himself. Thats a fair point. I would agree that we obviously look far more organised, however I feel that on paper our back four isn't the best this week. Three of the back four this weekend wont be first choice. I can see the likes of Lascelles and Mbemba being found out way more at this level. Add that to the fact that we dont have a proper left back and Manquillo looked massively suspect defensively based off last week. It hardly leaves you brimming with confidence imo. On paper i agree, but i would argue that on paper a lot of Rafa's decisions don't really look great But they end up working out because he's fucking awesome.
  11. Reasoned and calm, there's about 1,000 posts in the NBA thread which says otherwise.

  13. Deserves one anyway tbh, build him two.
  14. Not sure if serious Probably not.. Hopefully. I nearly believed it tbf.
  15. If he says nothing it means the link is legitimate imo, he wouldn't hesitate otherwise.
  16. Luckily we are dealing with an Italian club so a loan might be realistic
  17. He mainly plays there when i see him play tbh, although like Disco said he seems to be able to play anywhere across the front. I think Injuries have effected him but i'd still hope it happens
  18. Be class if we can get some of the deadwood out, even if we are not able to buy more this summer it will help out Rafa so much long term with this retard of an owner.
  19. If it's anything but this i'll be very surprised. Fat Boy Manquillo Mbemba Lascelles Clark Merino Hayden Ritchie Perez Atsu Gayle Although i personally wouldn't be against finding a spot for Murphy tbh, as i feel like the team lacks pace.
