  1. While showing the forum to be pretty darn emo it also gives a good hint as to why - the last couple of times we've been collectively bold enough to predict a win we've been swiftly slapped back into place!

I see the point you're making, but at the same time I think it's possible to be dominated in spells by a superior team without it automtically being the manager's fault. And I reckon you're selling our defenders short as well, I thought they were excellent as a unit even when under almost constant pressure.

MON is still bitter as fuck - giving Di Canio an absolute kicking here: http://www.football365.com/news/21554/9020747/O-Neill-Describes-PDC-As-Managerial-Charlatan-
  4. Maybe it was actually worry about the court case that was affecting his form all that time!
  5. People keep saying this and yet the few times he's played there he looks awkward. I think left back is simply his strongest position. Agreed. He should in theory be able to play RB but the few times we've tried it he just looked uncomfortable there.
  6. Can't remember the last time I felt so confident going into the last 10 minutes with a 1-0 lead - they visibly ran out of ideas and the way Krul was playing I just couldn't see us conceding. Great result.
  7. That's definitely his trademark these days - if this doesn't work again he won't just tweak it for the next game, it'll be the whole blueprint in the bin and start again.
  8. If you can place bets on when subs are made, go take a look at that Chelsea game and open your wallet. I'm especially looking forward to Obertan reprising his "pacy outlet" role to see us home for the win.
  9. One of the main reasons we won came off the bench and helped change the game. Indeed. I enjoyed that tactical masterclass by our esteemed leader and look forward to seeing it replicated today....
  10. When you've just beaten Chelsea I don't suppose we can complain too much about an unchanged lineup.
  11. Best bit is, Chelsea and Man City in particular don't even need it, it's loose change to their owners. Game is rotten.

They're all on here: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation Palace are still hot favourites but the mackems are clear odds on.
  13. I've just seen Chelsea's penalty - unbelievable decision, really does make you wonder about exactly how close to the line between ineptitude and corruption some of our refs might be.

Some top notch bitterness from MON in the Guardian today: "[Paolo] Di Canio was allowed to bring in 15 new players at a time and then didn't last six games into this season. Since I left [in March], Sunderland have won three Premier League games. Di Canio, coming in, disparaging about everything, won two of 11 games. They've taken 12 points from a possible 51 since my time. "I wouldn't have minded the opportunity to be signing 15 players. Nothing is certain in this game but my record in management over 20 years would suggest that we would have got the five points needed to stay up." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/nov/08/martin-oneill-roy-keane-republic-ireland
  15. I like that he seems to fucking hate Ashley Cole, gets him several bonus points in my book.
  16. Spot on, he was the absolute boss in there yesterday, brushing Chelsea's little fancy-dan midfielders off with ease.

That is so fucking embarrassing It's just so annoying. That run goes back to the 29th January, so in 9 months they've only won 1 league game against a team that wasn't Newcastle. Surely have to go down this season.

3 wins in their last 25 Premier League games now. 2 of those against us

If we had beaten them like every bugger else seems to be able to do quite easily they would be pretty much down already.
  20. Turns out he's a very good full back - seems to have adjusted to the league nicely.

Deserves credit today, one of those rare occasions where it all works out.
  22. Thought he was fantastic today, hope the sub was just a precaution.
  23. We should ask him if he wouldn't mind taking ours. Assuming we get one of course.
