Would Cortese have rejected these huge bids? Doubtful imo.
-
We should throw in one of our derisory bids for Ramirez if they're selling players in this fashion.
-
If we get Grenier they'll throw De Jong up front.
-
Doesn't rate Luke. Doesn't track back.

There is ? Think Milan are the main rival for his signature.

Get him in. Squad depth with quality is something we lack.
-
We've been interested in those two for some time now. I still think we could get either or both here if the terms were good enough. We'd have dropped interest if there was no chance at all. Obviously I don't think it'll happen, just think the thing about them being not keen isn't as clear as some make out.

Lad seems keen like going off his twitter account.

Not a chance Hummels would've left Dortmund to go to them IMO. You're probably right, but like someone said, 20 million can surely get you better.
-
They could have got someone like De Vrij (cheaper) or pushed all out for Hummels for a similar fee. Serious lack of imagination from them just raiding a team who outperformed last season. Its obvious but they'll massively struggle without Suarez and thats with those players they'v signed. Suarez's presence alone made them the side they were imo.
-
Lovren to Liverpool confirmed. 20mil. Ridiculous imo.

Someone playing well enough to earn a move upwards is not the same as someone turning down a team to join a worse, better paying one. Night and day. This is something you see rarely because not many clubs the size of QPR have the money they had at the time. If they did, I reckon you'd see Remy scenarios all over the place. Money talks, not just to Loic Remy.
-
He wanted to come to put himself in the shop window, don't delude yourself thinking any different. All these players would leave the minute a better opportunity arises. There's no difference between Remy and the likes of Cabaye, Debuchy and Ba who all left the minute a better position was available to them. Well except that Remy was never our player anyway, the entire squad would leave if they got a better offer. None of those players mentioned turned us down for a worse team purely for more money. That's the difference. We knew what Remy was like before he signed. No one else was in for those players thats why. Debuchy only came coz Cabaye was here, Cabaye wanted out after a season and we all know about the clause stuff with Demba Ba.

Yes. Winning games isn't the only thing that matters to some fans. Hope they bring Shola back for you then. He loves it here.
-
So if Remy begrudgingly comes to us and bags himself another 15 or so, will you still be annoyed the club went for this 'mercenary c***'? You're going on like he's Winston Bogarde.
-
Cabella's come here coz he knows if he has a few good seasons he'll be somewhere else soon enough. Lets not sit in denial here. Newcastle is a great club to play for but it's a stepping stone club now to these players with genuine talent. And also, barring the last day of the season (where the story is still a little confused), was his attitude that bad? Maybe lost his way a bit during that horrendous run but he was frequently one of our better players over the course of the season. And lets not forget the goals which kept us in the league of course.
-
I would have him back here straight away and out of all the links for a striker he's been the one i'v wanted us to sign the most, purely because he's proven, a quality footballer who scores and assists. Decent portion of our fanbase get to wrapped up in this mercenary bollocks. If you're looking to have players who are truly in love with NUFC then you're left with the likes of Ryan Taylor and Adam Campbell. Top players generally don't give a single f*** about anything other than money, look at the likes of Yaya and Aguero at Man City who have precisely zero affection for the shirt they wear. Besides, if Remy comes and has a good season or 2, he'd be sold anyway. It would be interesting to see if these supposed CL ambitions of his are still valid if we had a bid accepted and somehow decided to offer him what he wanted in wages. He may seem keen on coming back after all.

Lacazette can do far more with the ball then Hernandez, who is a clone of Michael Owen in terms of style.
-
Outside the top 5 we're the next ones in line imo. We've always had a decent pull on players, wether it's a stepping stone or any other reason Newcastle is still seen as a good club to play for.
-
Sure Spellman was also the one telling everyone not to get excited about the Cabella deal even though it was blatantly happening.
-
Not one of them had a clue about Siem De Jong coming until the dutch press spilled the news, hours before he signed. All guesswork seemingly.
-
Brilliant stuff.

Awful news, RIP to those two and everyone else. Cant work this world out sometimes.
