  1. Ashley would have rubber stamped the Cabaye deal, not Kinnear. If they wanted more money they could have got it.
  2. Hardly cynicism, it's what most fans seem to think.
  3. Probably true this. Don't think Ashley has any genuine plan he just makes these choices off the cuff. He'll be scratching his head wondering what his next move is.
  4. Don't believe it for one second, Ashley has got players here pretty quick before and if he wanted to repeat that he would've, JFK or not.
  5. haha, that is absolute bullshit.
  6. Right now, the supporters are the only positive thing about the club. They're the absolute last thing to pinpoint blame on.

Ashley just being a pure fucking bellend. Flog him now incase his value drops any further and pocket some loose change for him. Not a single thought given to the team or progress.

    haha, clubs a fucking mess.
  9. His program notes are embarrassing, not for him but for the fans. What the fuck is he doing here?
  10. Personally think he's a very shakey full back who positionally is all over the place quite frequently. I think he can burst forward well but his end product is pretty limited. Dont mind him, but doesnt look as good as we'd hoped he would be, although that could be the Pardew effect.
  11. Depends on how much money we would get for him... If we got our money back, then we be mad not to sell him.. Well considering that would leave us with Shola and two strikers which we'll never cough up the money to get permanently here, i'd say it is pretty mad. But then again, that's football logic. Not our greatest trait.
  12. Utterly pointless selling Cisse. They're taking the piss if they do.

Cabaye has gone for Champions League and you can't blame him for that. But this regime spouts on as if we're the size of Norwich or Hull. Their stewardship saw us relegated and we've been made to think small ever since. Even after we got 5th, points away from a Championsleague spot, our transfer activity represented that of a newly promoted club. If we acted like the club we all know we're meant to be, then maybe the likes of Cabaye won't be so desperate to leave.

Which is it then? The first part says everything. If you're truly serious and determined to bring a player in, you go with an offer than represents the selling clubs valuation, unless of course its preposterous. We don't though, we f*** about with lower offers or haggle over agent fee's. It's not because we don't want to be ripped off, its because we're adverse to spending full stop. There is always something that prevents the deal going through, whereas every other club on planet earth seems to get most of their deals done with no fuss whatsoever.

You can translate however you want but the fact is that yet again, we haven't done enough to bring the player in. As a club it's becoming idiosyncratic.

might it not have been prudent to source alternatives before hand? rather than one player? A bid under the valuation and wages half of what cabaye was getting? He said this 2 days ago, man: Bloke doesn't know where he's at. polemic viewpoints "we won't spend anything!!" / "lol at you fake bid crew!" So we bid £10 million and it didn't work, either because the fee was too low, or possibly because the player was never that interested. I reckon it was more the second one. Low bids tend to work when the player actively wants the move no? I'd have liked to see a few alternatives yeah. But replacing Cabaye is not an easy job. Personally I don't know who those alternatives would be. I trust in Carr's judgement. I'd rather hang on and get the right player. There's little left to play for this season. I don't love our transfer policy but you'd have to admit, we've brought in some superb transfers. Not enough obviously, but the days of spunking £6m on the likes of Bramble are over. This is the only username I've ever had. Now that I'm done talking, you may bring the rage. What's the point if we're not actively looking to purchase his recommendations anymore. He's on the clubs payroll to watch games, thats it. The proof is staring us in the face, in the last year we've borrowed 2 players.

We could easily afford to pay 15mil for him. No confidence we'll do that though. We had money prior to the Cabaye deal, just never spent any of it.

Just pay the required ffs. He's blatantly open to coming here.

I liked a few. The one after we got done 0-6 off liverpool he was fairly spot on imo. Now he's all over the place and the things gotten to his head

True Geordie is drunk on his youtube fame now. His one when the mackems got to the final was utter cringe stuff. Just came across as totally bitter. He used to make really good vids i thought but he could dee with packing it in for a while.
  23. If we can play like we did v Norwich and convert our chances then who knows. Can't say im confident though.
