The former. One of their better players last season.
-
Certainly puts a dent in the 8mill they wanted.
-
Was tweeting Andy Brassell earlier and he thinks that any player plus cash deal involving HBA is unlikely as he'd have to accept a large wage cut and also it would need the ok from Lacazette, which seems unlikely. Reckons the only way Lacazette is going is if a CL club comes in with big money.
-
Still think 10 mill is to much. Hardly played for ages and an absolute crock. Decent player of course but the definition of damaged goods.
-
The only thing that gets big players to Sunderland is money, and even then it's almost at gun point forcing them to join. They have no pull whatsoever to players and i'd say that even if I didn't support Newcastle.
-
Except we were fighting for top 5, had Shearer, Bellamy, Dyer etc. Money aye, but we at least had something Kluivert could say appealed to him.
-
He'd get a few goals but i'm thinking more along the lines of future planning, would be totally desperate imo. That's why Allardyce was chasing him, glamorous 30+ options who don't really have the stomach for a relegation scrap. ''Who's available? Eto'o … right well lets just pay him what he wants to get him here for a season'', even though he'll be surrounded by utter s****, both in terms of playing staff and location. He looked good at Chelsea but look at the supporting cast he had there.
-
Eto'o's still got it but if they're after him it shows they are running out of ideas.
-
Be staggered if Sunderland came up with the wages Eto'o wants.
-
I'm pretty pleased with these deals as it at least shows a semblance of forward thinking from the club. Not just opportunistic stuff.
-
Forest getting all the money at once no doubt and getting them back for a year. Deal sweeteners from Newcastle.
-
Lascelles is highly rated like, not sure on Darlow.
-
Nah I think he's just genuinely a quality player. Showed it at every club he's been at, the game comes natural to him. Motivation is the factor here but i'd still love him back at Newcastle.
-
We can't do better though that's the point. We are utterly useless I'm bringing players in who cost a fair bit.
-
Decent finish tbf.
-
Or watched for years and will clearly help the side.
-
Not surprising though. The 'targets' we have are all pricey so we're not really getting anywhere. Should be doing everything to get Loic Remy back.
-
Mark Douglas and Lee Ryder literally making s*** up. Know absolutely nowt.

2014/15 NUFC Kits - New third kit revealed on page 143
Stuy_O replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
http://www.camporetro.com/Shop-By-Team/Premier-League/Newcastle-United some very decent retro kits here. might have to get one. I'v tried to like this new one but i'v accepted it's just rubbish. Looks so cheap. -
Be quite typical of this regime if they feel they've smoothed everything over by doing the bare minimum and replacing (to a degree) players who have left. We desperately need a proven striker, if we don't then it's down to pure greed by Ashley again.
-
We're 2 mil in profit iirc.
-
Lukaku's good, only scored one more than Remy though in a better team. I think Remy in the right set up could score a shit ton of goals.
-
Thats true but none of our crop were English (apart from Carroll who went instantly) ,which seems to give the Man Utd's & Arsenals extra incentive. We also need to factor Liverpool in here who seem to have gone crazy paying 20mil for Lovren. The sales may seem harsh but i'm not sure they can turn the money they are being given down. If it doesn't get reinvested then absolutely their supporters are getting shafted.
