  1. Still think Fergie can be a good player for us, direct as hell and has a good cross on him. Just needs to work on other parts of his game and maybe bulk up a bit more. Sammy not so much, think Championship is his level.
  2. tbf I cant believe it's even in discussion. We need to be more worried about Kinnear with this team, not the 08/09 squad.
  3. It's Shearer. People love to have a dig. He's getting the blame for an 8 game spell and the other chaotic 30 were of no impact whatsoever apparently.
  4. Ashley could have wangled him a job at Rangers ffs.
  5. Don't rate Shelvey. But we do need a player of that ilk though imo, someone who can inbetween our midfield and forwards and start making chances.
  6. *Agrees not to do interviews and tone down* *Does another crazy interview days after.* He needs to be gagged and thrown in a cupboard.
  7. This is the third aggressive outburst from Kinnear in a week. Absolutely ridiculous he's at this football club and with so much say,
  8. Despite what Llambias said previously he probably did think he was gonna appoint him long term. Probably Ashley who put a stop to that.
  9. Aye, last throw of the dice from Ashley. Everyone knew it was a long shot. Kinnear came in long before with this huge background in management he boasts about yet his record was just as miserable. It's fair to comment that despite the crisis tag looming over the club at the time, the players were serial w*****s and gutless beyond belief. Anyone would have struggled but for Kinnear to first say they were flying under him and then state that the relegation was basically down to Duff playing at LB is just stupid and an indication of the mans denial.
  10. If Shearer wants to get back into management he'd do best to start somewhere down as low as league 2 imo. Just develop some sort of man management skills where the pressure isn't as intense. Was obviously difficult to refuse trying to save us but it's done him no favours.
  11. Shearer doesn't appear to have what it takes as a manager, but anyone even with decent pedigree would have struggled to have kept us up. The expectation on Shearer to keep us up was huge and he was the last person to blame for our relegation that season. We were awful under him, but the damage was clearly already done. If Kinnear is displeased at Shearer having his say, well then I suggest he finds the time to get used to it - as given his history and status at Newcastle he will be queried regularly at things going on at the club.
  12. This is it though, with Pardew around he's a guaranteed starter. He may have this work rate everyone goes on about but he has no other positive attributes as a footballer, which is a shame as he used to be very useful. His passing is diabolical, ball retention is as bad and it's a dear diary moment if he ever scores.
  13. Lets hope so. Nothing against Jonas, but he's finished at premierleague level. What Pardew continues to see in him is a mystery.

    Alan Pardew

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2346081/Joe-Kinnears-return-Newcastle-turned-great-club-soap-opera-says-Michael-Walker.html Quite a good read this imo. Paints a bleak picture. Didnt know what thread to put it in, all seem appropriate.
  15. The article basically going off the quote from Kinnear. Let's hope it's correct - but all last summer we heard of Ashley's revitalised ambition only to bring next to no one in excluding Vurnon Anita.
  16. Its just highlighting a situation for what it is. A bit of a mess and all really rather embarrassing.
  17. The name pronouncing is just childish imo, got help JFK if we ever bring in someone like Salihamidžić as a coach. Cabaye clearly wanted to leave prior to this, but it may have rubber stamped his stance.
  18. Hearing this also. What a player.
  19. Slight difference imo. Bobby knew the club inside out and had achieved loads in the game. And it was the odd name Robson got wrong. Kinnear openly criticises the support on the radio and mispronounces names in ridiculous fashion, and generally acts very crass. Of course fans are sorry he's lost a son, and sympathy is natural to that - but as mentioned above, throwing him in the deep end at Newcastle United is hugely unwise to both him as a person and the club himself. No private lives should ever impact the running of a football club, and vice verca. If he's seeking work, Ashley coulda offered something else.
  20. Dont think it's that bad a move, although I do like the Eredevisie. Couple of the dutch pages I follow on Twitter really seem to rate him.

Cisse has a far better work rate.
  22. Aye, Beckham used to do it a fair bit when at Man Utd. Really? Thought he always wore adidas? He did but upon upcoming model changes sometimes his boots were all black to hide the design.

Except that his conversion rate of chances is very good unlike Cisse (which is not a criticism per se, he just does miss a canny few) Would agree, but to compliment Cisse (whom I still think is a class player) we need to fix the areas that are glaringly suffering. Of course we need another striker, but i'm not sure Bent would come in and not suffer the same sort of struggles Cisse has if things stay the same.

we desperately need to embed some creativity between the midfield and the strikers. That's whats wrong, our total inability to carve out chances. Cisse get's all the flak yet he's so isolated it's easy to see why he snatches at the chances he gets. That's why the Bent rumour is daft as he's a player in the same mould.
