We did seem to be better at making deals happen and convincing players to really want to join the 'project' when Staveley and Howe were involved in transfers than nowadays.
-
I suppose the silver lining is we hoped to keep Wilson AND sign Cunha/Pedro (I think). So we should really still be looking for someone of that ilk.
-
There's surely no way on earth we had our best attacking options as: Joao Pedro / Cunha (nothing wrong with targeting these but was always possible another club would come in and be able to offer better terms) Beg Wilson to stay DCL It's an incredible leap really.
-
"Player has other options". Imagine we try for this bum and he chooses somewhere else man Suppose it would just be a continuation of the summer so far really, losing out on our first choice, wanting Callum Wilson to renew but he decided otherwise (at least I think that's what happened there), I mean judging by that we must be fucking desperate.

Shak's post made me realise our front 6 will all be right footed. As will all of our midfield. Would be nice to throw a leftie in to mix things up at times
-
Don't really remember him saying this, even if he did - get a thicker skin ffs
-
I've liked Elanga for a while now. Mainly due to his personality and attitude. Think he'd fit right in here and would improve, as the desire is there.

This debate is hilarious. Some need to be less defensive about Newcastle and not start slagging off other cities just because some would rather live or work there
-
Doing a bit of work for Man City recently and got some ITK transfer stuff that all happened/is happening. Kind of helped that the work was related to incoming players. Of course I wouldn't risk my job to post that shit on the internet though like some loon

This was the last bit of transfer/contract news I, and I guess most others, were expecting. Hoping it fits into some bigger picture, and we do not end up at any point having to rely upon a player who's body gave up on him a long time ago.
-
Sad news to hear tbh.
-
Never like the bloke from the get-go - and I suspect Howe didn't either. As above, that opening interview was pretty horrific as a way to introduce yourself to your new teams fans. Was just needlessly aggravating.
-
This would align with the way he's been acting on the pitch too lately. Maybe he thinks he's bigger than Newcastle.
-
I agree, and also the thing is, if selling one player for big money allows you to buy a couple, then it's not even really a sacrifice, it's just smart.
-
No first team signings all season btw. This outcome (CL and silverware) wasn't expected at the start of the season by most.
-
At least that puts to bed the notion that "we always win the big occasion" that was alluded to beforehand. That was shite from start to finish and an inquest is gonna take place inside the dressing room as to why that was the case I'm sure.
-
Sounds like Villa have been extremely harshly done by today.
-
Always loved United (Yes it is acceptable to call them that today)
-
Give it a fucking rest man, it's clear I meant today.
-
Wow we might qualify completely undeserved! What a farce man

Theres some who feel they need to shoot down anything they see as negative. And they see anything not inanely positive as a negative view they need to deal with.
-
Playing as if they don't want us to finish top 5 so they can all jump ship. No passion, no effort, nothing at all shown from the majority out there so far today. Oh, the tactics have been shite and all.
-
Chill...it's a really relaxing afternoon of football according to some

Pickford's starting to love this now. How fucking grim.
