Well that's very strange if the takeover is still on. Which if this news is anything to go by it may not be. All the news from the last week has been ominous, despite a section of fans wanting to spin anything as a positive.

Where does it end though? This could rumble on forever. They can take another year for me if it meant it passing. If they reject it and we're stuck with Ashley, that's my footballing life finished. I literally can't imagine life with Ashley and Bruce here long term aiming for 40 points EVERY season. I'd rather wait as long as it takes if it means it goes through. I share your feelings. I'm pretty much detached from football now already. Caulkin's tweet though, has started to dwindle away the little bit of confidence that I had that this ends soon and also in a 'yes' decision from the PL. Personally I don't think Caulkin has enhanced his reputation through this one bit to be honest. He's still the only one that doesn't come across (to me anyway) like they are guessing nor does he ever come across as a wind up merchant. If he's made a mistake, it's that he's said anything at all but i believe he's passed info on in good faith as he wants to try and give fans something. I could be being naive of course My issue with his reporting is his certainty that what Staveley has been telling him is the truth, without any corroborating evidence.

This. Some people get so defensive the moment someone points out that not all is going to Staveley's plan so far. It may do in future, but so far we've been waiting 3 years for her word to come true.

What... Same agent? It would be just like this club to finally throw away £40m on a player and it to turn out is was only a favour to get a £16m bargain over the line. Well if we've actually paid anywhere near that amount it can only have been as a favour surely. It certainly wasn't based on footballing value. I doubt we've actually parted with more than £16 million for him.

Why would it be fucked? It literally says in the next line it shouldn't affect the the takeover. thats what they think but assuming its stavely and co briefing Taylor its also the same lot who were saying "no red flags"; they're either not that bright, self delusional to an extreme or just throw random bs at journalists to keep them happy. The fact she's "still confident" holds no weight at all any more, if it ever did.

Yep. That was really really good. Think everyone should listen to that for some insights into this takeover and previous ones that didn’t quite make. Interesting that BZG pulled out because they felt it was an insult to have to pay a non-refundable deposit to Ashley, along with a number of other insults they felt Ashley dealt them. Also, rumours that the new owners have already bought the freehold for SJP. (Some leaks from the city council) And that PIF/PCP etc had been told around June 1st by the PL that they were going to pass the takeover but on the proviso that they make efforts to sort the piracy. PIF apparently felt that this meant the deal was done. Well worth a listen, whatever you think of Wraith and Mitch. Agree completely I have no problem with the dentist, he openly admits he’s a gobshite and Hastie comes across as very genuine bloke. Found it very interesting that as recent as January they were meeting with midhat, and sheik khaled was at 65% about getting involved in another attempt to buy club. Also if BZG had taken over we would have become the club of Dubai, with even more prominent people involved, I'm assuming they were suggesting the Maktoum’s. Whoever it is, I wouldn't take them as gospel. The bit about PCP/PIF being so stupid they thought it was done when it wasn't, lets hope that's bullshit, as it doesn't paint them in a good light if they interpret things so wrongly. Seems logical. I like this train of thought but it's bloody frustrating in the meantime. But if you're right then it would make sense to announce it like you've described for maximum impact. The only downside I see to this is it would involve players and, worse, their agents so more potential for leaks. I can imagine the parasitic agent types blabbing on any enquiries about their players to get the best deals for them elsewhere. I doubt very much you can make someone sign an NDA for just asking them a question about availability, although as always I am open to be educated by the more knowledgeable business types on here. Thats quite amazing, most of their unsuccessful ones went out of play rather than being intercepted also. I think cones could have done a better job
