Rémi Garde and the case of the missing art galleries
NUFC_Chris replied to Nobody's topic in Football
I just wonder what the hells really going on. The only reason I can see for carver getting the job is there's a total lack of interest in the position. Garde must surely want it, we'd have heard comments from him to the contrary otherwise. I just hope the delay is due to issues with his coaching staff and not the general cuntishness of our board refusing to either pay him what he's worth or refusing him permission to bring in his own staff. Only time will tell. Got a feeling we'll know either way before the Southampton game. -

Just had a listen on the link. As Willow says, they invite people onto the program, let them talk for a minute, then shout over them continually interrupting and not allowing people to correctly get their points across. The St Etienne being a tiny club in France was a funny one though. You'd think anyone worth an ounce would know St Etienne are huge in France. -

We never, ever, do anything quickly. Unless it's sell our most saleable assets of course. -

It'll be Carver til the end of the season, then Garde. I've got nothing to base this on, just reading between the lines. -

I've had a Google. Suitably unimpressed. -

Got to admit a bit worried this could all fall through now. It was always likely Garde would want to bring in his own staff, this is normal but with the clubs structure as it is I hope Charnley isn't enforcing Carver/Woodman etc on whoever it may be who's applying. Surely not. Leaving an appointment til the summer would be a big risk imo if we can get a man of quality in now. There's no guarantees we'd get Tuchel or whoever else in the summer. -

Please happen before the Southampton game. [emoji120] -
They talk so much dross on that program. I stopped watching/listening to their 'know nowt' bullshite years ago.

It's just a big punt leaving carver in charge til the summer. We might not win a game for the rest of the season then he turns us down. Lol

It's terrible when you're so apprehensive of getting your hopes up, as the Garde story will probably just end up as press speculation and we'll appoint Carver full time. [emoji22] -

Hopeful, but wary of this. Can't understand why Sherwood would now come in at evens. -
Likely announcement next week they say, hope so, but not convinced. I don't believe any paper/journalist is doing anything other than speculating.

My money would be on Galtier, but he's not even been mentioned by the Nationals. Largely as, imo, the national media haven't much of a clue when it comes to Ashley & NUFC.

Ignore this, turns out I replied to an ancient post. Lol.

I agree with your point neither are really good enough but Willo is just too slow and lumbering for me. Taylor has the pace to chase back at least, which is a necessity in this league with the amount of quick forwards. I'm not sure it's coincidence when Willo was sitting out injured we started keeping clean sheets. Credit for that to Dummett as well mind, filling in at centre half.

I thought he was having a great game til he went clattering into Schurle I think it was? He'd done the hard work nipping in and pinching the ball off Drogba's toes. Tbh though I know you're all calling him thick as mince but I'd rather have Taylor in the side than Williamson atm.

Mind you, Pardew telling an 18 year old lad that it's time he delivered is a bloody joke. -

Mourinho yet to win at SJP as a manager is a stat which still surprises me. -

I can see us losing this & beating Chelsea, really would be typical of our club. -

Personally I think he's a definite upgrade on Denuchy. Better both defensively and offensively. -
Was the Andy Cole song being used for Ayoze today? Could've sworn I'd heard our lot singing it.

Had a bit of a scout on a Panathinaikos forum. Seems they're missing him quit badly

Aye could be anyone, just hanging that tweet out for retweets etc.
