First Minteh and now this?

You know what I was saying. Lot of energy spent railing against a transfer negotiation (not involving us!) that doesn’t seem all that preposterous, is all.

See I’m thinking the opposite: play ‘em in NCAA stadiums in college towns across the country. World Cup games being played in State College, South Bend, and College Station would be insane. They could easily fill those monsters, too. Final, like ‘94, at the Rose Bowl.

Need to go get someone like Rangnick to completely overhaul the entire system

Y’all would be apoplectic if we signed three 19 year-old wingers in a window.

Anyway, best of luck to the kid. I think he’s got enough about him to make a decent PL career for himself.

Yeah I was getting my wires crossed. Reading this thread is dizzying.

It’s staggering how many academy players that Man City have sold in the past decade. Some have become decent players; others haven’t amounted to much at all. Man City have consistently used the funds generated from those sales to buy quality first-team players. Cole Palmer could turn into the next CR7, but Man City will have won the league another half dozen times in the meantime. And they’d be able to buy him back anyway!

This kind of sign-to-sell with young players is necessary if we want to compete in this league. It’s particularly consequential when we make little to nothing on sales of Ashley-era players who desperately need to be moved out of the squad in favor of new signings. Whether or not Minteh becomes a world beater and/or doubles Brighton’s ROI is completely irrelevant to the top brass at the club. To be able to buy, we’ve gotta sell.
