  1. This isn't intended to play down his efforts which have been excellent, but IMO it's no surprise when there's genuine competition for places. Players have to step up and he's doing so. Agreed. Even Jonas has looked better the past two games.
  2. Walker has been a dirty cunt all game with Gouffran getting the better of him for the entire time he was on the pitch - in light of this, I think he's run in with every intention of an "accidental" follow through. And then that curb stomp while Gouff was down.
  3. Tiote or Mapou on for Perch, add a little more defense to the midfield
  4. It hurts just to barely clack the shin. Taking a blow like that surely hurts, enough to take oxygen even. Doesn't mean it's broken though.
  5. Can't imagine it's anything more than a hairline fracture, if that.
  6. Bunker in and play for the draw eh? I read ya loud and clear. -
  7. Almost sure to see Adebayor at some point. Spurs need that hold-up play.
  8. Impressed by his play. He's got Jonas' workrate, but also attacking verve.

In retrospect, Klinsmann should have been hired exclusively as a technical director overseeing the complete re-tool of soccer in the U.S. A lot of Germany's youth resurgence the past few years can be credited to the work Klinsmann did in overhauling their system. He has helped with that in his capacity as national team manager here too, but I don't think he's a great tactics/personnel guy. I'd like to see Peter Vermes, Jason Kreis, or Ben Olsen take the reins in a few years.

Torres has one role that he's good at: central midfield. Not attacking midfield, not defensive midfield. Klinsmann likes to play him at winger for some reason, where he's absolutely useless. Sit Torres smack dab in the middle of the field and he's a useful player.
