Obviously this window hasn't gone as I'd have liked it so far but I'm still reasonably optimistic. We've clearly got serious cash to throw about and the window will open up towards the end with loans becoming available, clubs shitting their kegs that they might miss out on some money, possibly the ACoN ending as well. Wish I could press the skip button until Feb 1st mind

Briefs/bullshit from all sides happening I reckon.

That's a lot of stories in the space of a few hours like, hoping that's a good sign presumably the player is interested too or why else would they bother?
-
Have always wondered how they go down like are there any negotiations in those City/Spurs documentaries? Only footage I've seen is of the Mackems getting their pants pulled down on deadline day on the Netflix one.

Times article said we'd prefer a permanent move anyway

Don't think it was that simple tbf. Looks like we thought we could get Botman, he wanted to come but they kept moving the goalposts after we were led to believe they'd be willing to sell at a price we thought was acceptable. Don't really see what else they could do without seeing into the future.

The moving for money thing is even more tiring considering we are apparently going out of our way to make sure that we don't just hoy loads of money at players, Trippier being on less than 100k p/w is pretty sensible in football terms. Are Coutinho and Digne playing for buttons at Villa? They'll probably both be on more than we'd want to be paying at the minute but nothing gets said.

Sick of hearing about all of these footballers playing for free.

Ando, where art thou?

Aye that's what I took it as.

Might be in my head but feels like they've been quiet on rumours since the Cambridge game and the reports of Al-Rumayyan/PIF being unhappy with the way certain things have been handled.

There's nee chance they are thinking about throwing the towel in and planning for the championship like.
-
Still all depends on the business we do in the next few weeks for me. Nail it and I still think we could survive reasonably comfortably, the teams at the bottom with us are absolutely fucking turgid and they aren't going to suddenly turn into prime Barcelona.

Currently clinging onto the fact that the market does typically open up towards the end of the month.

Hope Benitez being available doesn't become another distraction, not sure this does us any favours at the moment.
-
Glass houses and all that but aye, the whole thing is a bit of a joke now.

Another red for Xhaka

He was our number one target, we've tried and it hasn't worked out. Unless our new owners are so rich they've invented a way to see the future I'm not sure what else they could have done, frustrating aye and far from ideal but hardly a waste of time.

Romano saying we're already working on two other candidates though don't think that's particularly new.
