Worth remembering that anybody will be an improvement on the current incumbent. If he was our top choice, not getting him doesn't mean we can't make a significant improvement. Football is full of stories of such things.

If he was regularly fit he’d want to play. He wouldn’t start for us if so. He’s not fit often enough and is therefore somewhat useless cover. If he does go he’s been a really great player for us.
