  1. 'Here, we offer you a new 4-year contract til age 32 and on top of that, add another 3 years once you reach 200 appearances. How does that sound?' Sounds like BS. Should have made it an exclusive option to extend on the club's side like WBA did with Shane Long. Those amateurs never learn. I think it's just something that has been made up when people look at his appearances and see how close he is to a landmark.
  2. Anywhere between £20k and £30k I would guess.
  3. Aye, struggling to get annoyed at those comments.

It depends. If we feel we aren't going to be able to bring in another striker, then rejecting that offer makes sense.

Aye, who finds that funny besides kids?
  6. Bit gutted as he seems like a lovely bloke, but it's time for both the club and player to move on. I can't find any fault in his commitment when he has played, although his ability can be called into question.
  7. Is Fabio the shite one, Rafael the decent one?

    Remy Cabella

It perhaps shows a bit of a weakness at handling pressure, but I wouldn't judge him too harshly if he performs poorly tonight.
  9. I can't see any top level player on a decent wage ever using the Webster ruling. I think it's good for extreme cases where the player is feeling trapped in a foreign country and isn't playing for his current club, but for players like Cabaye and Rooney, any club wanting them will eventually stump up the cash. Very rare that players will get frozen out at the top level as there's too much money to be had from selling them and it'd cost too much in wages to send them to play with the reserves/kids.

No doubt we've been watching him before tonight and can make a fair assessment on the player. Natural that he'd want to impress knowing that clubs are watching.
  11. £5m but we settled out of court with Mallorca and Velez Sarsfield apparently.
  12. His deal runs until the end of next season, I imagine his back room staff will have similar time left. Can they afford to sack him, especially if he takes them down?

    Loïc Remy

His goals have dried up a little so they want him to be the forefront of buying clubs minds while his ratio looks great. Guess it's not worth the gamble if he doesn't replicate his record in the second half of the season, might as well put him in the shop window now while stock is high.

I'm not so sure Defoe relies all that much on pace. He's all about striking a ball cleanly with power and managing to keep it low. He's a real danger with that skill.

Redknapp and QPR are only acting as we would in the situation. Slap a high price on the player, either a club pays it or we continue on.
  16. Seemed a good appointment for us at the time. He was fairly highly rated with what he had achieved at Bolton in fairness.
  17. Yeah, same. I'd feel better about signing him mind if he had a lengthy spell of playing without picking up knocks. The talent is there, we seen that.
  18. Is it usual for training pics to be published when a player comes back? They're probably trying to keep him out of the spotlight until he's back, I'd guess.

Bet you £10 Chopra will get into bother for that.

Hard to say what's gone on without being privvy to what goes on at the training ground.
  21. Due back against us in a couple of weeks.
  22. Shit comment from Clattenburg but not worthy of official action.
  23. The best way to deal with feigning injuries and diving is acting retrospectively using video footage if the referee misses it during the game.
