Just because things could be worse, doesn't mean you shouldn't still strive for better. Irrelevant I suppose as I really believe Pardew would be allowed to take us down and have time in the Championship to rectify his error if it did happen.
-
I've no worries over him leaving this January, I think the summer he'll be off. We will hopefully have a replacement lined up (haven't seen Cabella to comment) as the writing has been on the wall since the summer that Cabaye wants off.
-
Pardew was asked a direct question about Cabaye, if he says no comment the media will paint it as he's gone, and if he says he's not for sale, he'll look like a pleb if we do get an insane offer for him and Ashley accepts it.

All about the 3 points and the right display. Whether we score 2 or 4 I want us to play with control and cut out the fear that creeps in to our play in the second half of matches.

Carroll is still very much learning his trade. He needs a run of games to get that sharpness back but I'm not sure he'll play consistently without picking up injuries. He is a handful for defences when he's playing regularly. He needs the right set up around him as I don't think he'll match the scoring ratio he had with us, but in terms of being a focal point with the right players buzzing around him, I think he's got a decent career in the game ahead of him. If he stays fit of course. I don't think he'll play for a top club but he has an opportunity to get a good amount of England caps if he can get fit for a long period and get into his stride again.

Carlton Cole who just signed an 18 month extension to his contract as well. Urgh. Imagine man.
-
I'm not sure what he's expecting from Shola. His contribution is minimal, I'd sooner have Cisse on as much use as he is right now.
-
I think he's done as a top flight manager. Shocked a few teams with his Bolton side but it's such an outdated style and he doesn't seem to know anything else.
-
Anita off Shola on is a shocking sub and tells you all about what Pardew had planned.
-
Still think he has huge potential but was disappointed in him today.
-
Apparently had a decent debut.
-
Still think there is something there with this lad if he knuckles down and works hard. He has a chance to get a decent amount of England caps if he can stay fit.
-
Wish we would wake up and try and match his ambitions. We will continue to lose players of his ability if we're happy to stagnate outside the relegation zones.
-
He'll take a bit of time to get back up to speed with the game and get what Michael Owen calls "match fit." And then he'll be on the sidelines for a little while longer.

I'm trying to work out in my head how this could have panned out. I can't envisage a scenario whereby neither Pardew or Jonas have spoken since the summer. Jonas will have been doing his physio work but as far as I'm aware he hasn't been sent to train with the kids or been excluded from team activities. I do find it a bit difficult to believe that neither have spoken about why Jonas has been out the team or that Jonas hasn't even asked. I am inclined however to believe Jonas after all the lies from Pardew and Ashley.

Pardew: "He has gone on loan, he has not left. He was not playing first-team football. He wanted to play and I thought we had good cover for him to go out and play and that is what I have decided to do. I wish him well at Norwich. Chris knows him well and will get the best out out of him. “He did nothing wrong here. He has been a great player for us but wasn’t playing. He is a senior player and I think he was desperate to play. “The World Cup is not far away and so it was an opportunity for him to play. No more than that."

Aside the tall one in the middle and one to her right, no one here is turning any of them down tbh.

Blonde on far right is pulling the troll face.

Blackburns away shirt is ugly as fook.

He's out of favour there and he wants away, I think a loan deal is a good move for both parties as he may regain form here and we aren't quite willing to pay out the money upfront for a striker struggling in a new league. I don't think he is suddenly half the player he was when they signed him, so £6m might be low for what they're after but he isn't playing. I think they have to be a bit realistic. If we know him to be a good player then we should bend our transfer policy a little but we will undoubtably stick to our guns until the player forces it further.

Stay classy, Messi.

Quite a drop for Jelavic as he looked shit hot last year.

Has Pardew not also said similar? Not really been following the rumours this January. Avoid a bit disappointment. EDIT: I recall Pardew saying 2 or 3 signings this window?
