  1. Two really well-matched teams although we've done well in the head-to-heads recently. Feels more "must-win" for them than us given the league table. It's also the start of a massive week where they play Man City and a cup semi-final. I'm also guessing they will be pumped up for it given their perceived injustice regarding Boxing Day. My main concern would be managerial decisions in-game where I'd back Emery's experience to get the better of Tindall as the game unfolds. I'm pleased that Joelinton is available as he'll be crucial in the midfield battle, but right now I'd say a point and a couple pints in the Wellington/Post Office Vaults would represent a very satisfactory trip to Brum.
  2. Again. If that's the level of dissent that gets a yellow card then a lot of players are going to be in a lot of trouble.
  3. Had no doubt when Barnes got the ball that it would end up in the back of the net.
  4. Yep. He jumps and nudges him. If we're giving penalties for that then every outfield player is going to be in a world of bother.
  5. We need to get into this horrible lot on Sunday. Players and fans. No taking it easy or assuming we will win. Need full-throated aggression* on and off the pitch and go for the jugular from the off. *controlled aggression from Joelinton in order to avoid suspension please.
  6. They were absolutely dogshit. Potter has a real job on to sort that out. Reminded me of us when they were chasing the game. That's not a compliment btw!!
  7. It probably was a foul technically if we're honest. I think if the cross wasn't going comfortably over the defender's head they'd have pulled that back but as it had no bearing on the game they didn't.
  8. Massive pile of wank from two times wjo look like they can't be arsed and don't want to be there. Not sure what West Hams excuse is.
  9. It's what a lot of their fans normally wear to matches anyway isn't it? Are they unbuttoning the stone island badges or something?
  10. I wouldn't be against giving Wilson and Isak 15 minutes on the pitch together at some point tomorrow. Might see them at some point on on Sunday if we're chasing the game.
  11. Joelinton and Willock both seem to do well vs west ham as well
  12. Don't think I've ever been more sure of a defeat in my life (apart from anything played at Anfield of course.)
  13. They were defensively a rabble for half an hour in that game. A proper shambles that would make a conference team blush. Second half they played really well in fairness.
  14. Liverpool did defend very well last night in fairness but I also think for all their posession and longrange shots PSG lacked a focal point and didn't move the ball quick enough to carve out clear cut chances. It will be a completely different game at Wembley but I'd be very surprised if they didn't beat us by a few clear goals given the states of the squads and injury lists. I agree with you that they aren't great, but we really needed a clean bill of health to have a sporting chance imo. Also we haven't bloody beaten them since Wijnaldum was playing for us.
  15. Yep. We can do it for big games, or if the team is playing well, or if the team is in the shit and needs to be carried through. Maybe expectations have risen and people are in a strop when those expectations aren't met?
  16. Wasn't the reason we lost but was completely clueless. Not going to go through them all but the rugby tackle on Wilson not resulting in a card was probably the highlight. Booked Joelinton for the first pullback of the game then let about 6 players from both teams get away with far more blatant ones. Baffling. Like Oliver, he had a few years where he was very food but he seems to have hit some sort of menopause-related insanity about 18 months ago and he's useless now.
  17. That was really poor again today. Much much worse than the Forest game was. If people can't get excited about a home FA Cup 5th round tie then they should really pack it in and do something different with their spare time. Far too many happy to rock up, hold up a flag before kickoff and think they've done their job and they can then settle down for a natter with their mates. Not strictly to be filed under "atmosphere" but was appalling the amount of people that fucked off at the end and couldn't be bothered to acknowledge the players effort (yes they played shit but they had run themselves into the ground by the end.) Gallowgate lower was at least 3 quarters empty by the time they came round. Of course the beggy cunts woth their tatty cardboard signs demanding players shirts were out in force that's something else that needs to be banned imo
  18. Man City fan Lee Dixon very effectively glossing over the push by the goalscorer there.
  19. I didn't go on Wednesday but on the way back from Man City 2 weeks ago my gut instinct was along these lines. Honestly felt out of place and not only didn't enjoy it but felt like I didn't "belong."
  20. all of a sudden mccoist seems palatable. Boglin hates us. Never forgave us for qualifying for the second stage of the CL in 2002/03 when Liverpool didn't so he had to commentate on us instead of them. Proper bellsniffer.
  21. I'd add Willock to that as well. He looked fucked second half at the weekend and has started similar here.
  22. Thought that's what the teamsheet was tonight.
  23. Used to work with a big Dundee Utd fan who delightes in telling me they have played Barcelona 4 times in Europe (2 z 2 legges ties) and have a 100% record across those 4 games.
  24. I know this is a rhetorical question, and I entirely agree with your wider point, but it's worth noting that the last train south avoiding rail replacement buses left at 4pm and I know of at least 2 silly sods/daft c***s that had booked on that. They'll have had to leave before the end after the injury time in 1st half. I wouldn't do it myself mind (for this exact reason!) Would have killed me to be in a position where I had to leave a game like that early.
