  1. Instead of flying to Dubai, the plane Wilson was on turned its tracking radar off and was diverted to sunderland international. He's in the starting xi
  2. It's the fucking derby. What more justification would you possibly need??
  3. I'd take a draw to stop the rot and qualify for the Europa League now if offered.
  4. I can't properly explain how much I agree with this. I'm 41, I've just spent 3 days on the lash. Tuesday morning I was hungover to shit, but by kickoff I was in full voice again. The idea that people are too hungover and can't sing is utter bollocks If anything I drink at the football in order to lose control and be louder
  5. I was literally stood just behind Abbey for all of the second half and can't disagree with anything she has said here
  6. Two problems tonight. In terms of the crowding, a steward told us that they moved every nufc fan with a ticket for the home end into the away terraces The support to the team was shite. No if, buts or maybes it was wank and completely unacceptable. Far worse than wembley was in my experience of both.
  7. Their fans were absolutely shit by the way. Heard them twice all game. Even in the first half when they were on top they were silent. Not the main thrust of the statement I know, but they're in an alternative reality.
  8. I just find it so hard to believe that the London press would back Arsenal to the absolute fucking hilt over something as marginal as that goal. Again.
  9. "They’ve had the benefit of time to consider their response and had the option not to show their entire arse. They have eschewed that option. Presumably egged on by the wider reaction and people who are supposed to be their friends, Liverpool appear now to have lost the entire run of themselves." perfectly put. They are becoming a parody of themselves!!
  10. Henderson completely baffled there that the ref didn't just make up some additional time for the corner to be taken. You don't play for Liverpool anymore so get used to it you snivelling prick.
  11. Long thin bar sounds about right but with a larger area at the back once you've gone past the bar, not too dissimilar to places like Balmbras on the Bigg Market (if that's still there these days?) Mind you, my recollection is blurry, and not just duebto the passage of time it was a very strange place Alkmaar- didn't see a soul walking from the station to the town square at about 2 in the afternoon. Was like a ghost town, very eerie.
  12. I'd have that Palhinha from Fulham in there as well ahead of either Tonali or Bruno
  13. Was that bar on the town square (waag??) by any chance? Pre-match I ended up in a bar similar to what you have described. Basically, there was a tiny bit of aggro between a wannabe hooligan of theirs and some of our lot. Massive police over-reaction saw the entire square split into two, only because I'd been chatting to an Alkmaar fan (who was extremely tidy) and I ended up on the wrong side of the police line. Got dragged into this bar by the lass's mates where there was a DJ playing AZ songs, everyone jumping and twirling their scarves etc. In the main it was OK- I couldn't get to the bar and get a round in for my new friends or even buy myself a beer without an AZ fan shoving another one into my empty hand. Was generally sound but also a bit of an edge to it when the wannabe casual came in and made a beeline for me, started showing off his "clobber" which included a knuckle duster before another AZ fan who was built like a fucking tank saw what was going on and basically came and picked the radgie up by the shoulders, turned him around and told him to fuck off. Was in this bar for 45 minutes tops, must have had at least 6 pints in that time and saw the best and worst of football fandom in there.
  14. I'm guessing Given misses out as anything pre-2006 wouldn't have been counted. I thought Brad Friedel would be a shoo-in, but clearly not.
  15. Some brilliant trips in there. If we qualify then great, if we finish 3rd and go into the Europa then even better, if we finish bottom then no excuse for not giving the FA Cup a proper go this year. I'm buzzing.
  16. I know the exact dates need to be worked out (mainly due to the various national tv companies) but do you (or anyone else) know if the match-weeks for each fixture will be confirmed then? Considering booking a couple of flights as early Tuesday out- early Thursday return which would cover either night and hopefully get in before demand and prices skyrocket.
  17. This is why nobody likes these weird sadsack cunts. Rather than revelling in a gutsy performance against the odds to grab victory from the jaws of defeat they would rather whinge on about imaginary injustices (ignoring everything that went their way) and wallow in playing the victims for the sake of it. What's the point in that??
  18. I'd rather watch *insert gruesome image of close relatives engaged in scat-type pornographic scene* if I'm honest.
  19. Agree with most of this but definitely the bit about the Gordon sub. He looked like was starting to blow a bit and it's not unreasonable for Howe to expect a £30m winger to carry on doing what Gordon was doing which is basically running past a player who struggles defensively at tue best of times and was shit scared to put a tackle in as he knew if he got it wrong he would he off. "Ponderous" is a great description of the chance he messed up. Seemed like he was waiting for Wilson's permission to shoot (something which is never going to happen ) whereas if he pins his ears back and runs in on goal himself he's in. It's easy to criticise the sub with the benefit of hindsight, but I could see the logic at the time.
  20. Between our goal and halftime it was very loud and intimidating, second half as the nerves grew and liverpool got on top it got quieter which was probably when they needed it more. First 10 minutes was good but the only disappointment for me was it went flat after that until the goal and I'd expected better, especially with it being a bank holiday today and the opportunity to have a good drink before the game.
  21. If this lad is out for any length of time we should be rejigging our tactics to gove the back 4 a bit more protection
