Watched that whole game and aftermath live and it was the most I enjoyed a football game last season by a mile

Pitch invasions have been going on for years man. It's not just about getting selfies I'd be disappointed if there wasn't a pitch invasion if we ever won the PL
-
I love a pitch invasion

The title "The Resurrection of Newcastle United" seems like something that's going to come back to bite us on the arse in the future

I don't think there's any reason why Gouffran couldn't be a better player than he is. He has a decent touch and strike on him but always takes the easy option and never tries anything difficult
-
Mainly because they didn't try to score tbf
-
He has been impressive when I've seen him but just something to note with Maguire is that he's playing on the right of a back three with freedom to push on and may not be as impressive as a normal centre half in a back four
-
It's only for penalties and dives leading to red cards so the TV stations won't have any influence

Rafa loves Ireland -
Based on the little I've seen I think Mooy's not as flamboyant as Shelvey but is perhaps a better decision maker. Probably better at winning the ball in challenges as well
-
Just accept that he's crap man Have you read any of my posts man? Most people here seem to think he's some kind of world class player if only he tried. I'm not one of them

Honestly the worst finisher I've ever seen. Makes Mitro look like Messi
-
I understand why people didn't like him, because of him being in the French papers every week and what not, but I think people let that affect how they view his performances on the pitch. So for example a simple bad performance of which he had many, people would say he was being lazy rather than the truth which is that he just isn't a very good player, especially when he is supposed to be the focal point of the attack. When he did have a good performance, i.e. when the other team allowed him loads of space to run into, people were wondering why he couldn't do that every week when it was simply because most teams don't allow you that space on the counter. Even on his bad days he was usually our biggest threat though, which says more about the other players than it does about him

The point is a top class manager doesn't make a "poisonous" player captain
-
What French dressing room? He was the only starter we had that was French in Rafa's time I don't want him back btw, because I prefer more technical players but its hilarious the amount of flack he got in his time here compared to some other players
-
Strange how Rafa would appoint such a poisonous figure in the dressing room as captain mind.

Sam Clucas has "earned comparisons with N'Golo Kante this season" wat
-
Did you consider Josh King as a natural finisher when he scored 5 goals in 64 games for Blackburn? Or 1 in 19 when at Hull? Do you want us to just keep him forever in the hope he starts scoring at some stage?
-
Aye if everyone in the prediction thread on here had a table like that it would look bad as well. Doesn't Lawro generally do very well in his predictions? He did last season anyway iirc

It's bullshit though. Their version of diving will be where there's no contact but the player falls over. What they need to outlaw is players going to ground when they feel contact. That's the real scourge of the game Completely disagree. It's been shown many times that refs don't give penalties if players stay on their feet after being fouled so they are right to go down if they're fouled It's a foul if you are impeded. You can feel contact and not be impeded, able to carry on your run, dribble etc. without any bother. Instead players CHOOSE to go down instead of carrying on. That's not a foul according to any laws of the game. If you CHOOSE to go down it's a dive, whether you feel contact or not. This 'he had a right to go down' is one of the most frustrating and destructive sentences uttered by anyone with regards to football. Absolutely bullshit and the reason the game is being ruined. You're basically saying he had a right to throw himself to the ground because someone tapped his leg?! Really!? Is this what it's come to where supposed fans of football are advocating players falling over when they feel a tap. That's f***ing disgraceful and actually quite sad as well. Yes you have a right to go down if you're fouled. Getting tapped on the ankle preventing you from getting to the ball or continuing a run is a foul yes

We can't just keep him for years in the hope he becomes good
