  1. Decent pay for players and other staff, more money for the smaller clubs, community spirit, just a few reasons
  2. Ballsy to leave his cushy Sky gig for that like. He'd be an absolute coward if he didn't take that job like How so? Well assuming he wants to be a manager, this is as good a job as he could possibly get. Would be a serious lack of ambition to say no Well, it's a job he's on a hiding to nothing for as well. Will never be able to compete with the big two and has to engineer catching Atletico led by Simeone. While not speaking the language, presumably. Good for him like, hope he does well as I like a lot of what I've seen in his TV analysis. Not really on a hiding to nothing. They're ninth with about the 4th/5th best team. He even gets them to 5th, even 6th maybe which he should be able and it will be considered a decent job
  3. Valencia were better off when they had nee fucking money

  6. Doubt he speaks Spanish does he?
  7. A good friend of mine takes their son to the training ground once or twice a week to be coached by the academy. I asked today how he was getting on and if any players attend. My friend said a few of the players are there using the gym etc and that they had spotted Johnson there at least twice on the nights they attend. Obviously just there looking at kids then
  8. Suarez unlucky not be there instead of Ronaldo but I guess he's not really well liked

While the latter is obviously true, that we don't have any of those things, we're not better than 6-7 teams in the league, on paper or otherwise. Nonsense!! Our first team squad is full of international footballers from non-pisspot footballing nations - 5 dutch internationals, 1 Senegal international, a French international, a Serbian international and probably a couple more i've forgotten. On paper we are comfortably better than Bournemouth, Norwich, Sunderland, Leicester, West Brom and Watford. That's 6 teams and you could argue that we have a better squad than Villa as well. Holland are s*** now bar Robben, it says more about how bad they are that the likes of Anita can get into their squad than anything else. I'd barely have Anita in the Ireland squad ffs, if at all. Serbia are also s***. France are the only good team of those internationals you name. Leicester are way better than us btw. Haven't seen much of the other teams you mention tbf. Holland aren't shit FFS! They're going through a poor patch but they're still one of the best international teams in Europe. And as for Leicester being better than us player for player - nope, not having that at all. Prior to this season the only players you'd probably have taken from them are Morgan, Schmeichel and Mahrez. Would you have taken Vardy over Perez last season? This season maybe but he's merely going through a purple patch. Albrighton over Aarons? Drinkwater over Wijnaldum? Simpson over Janmaat? Okizaki over Mitrovic? Schlupp over Sissoko? Ok I'll put it simpler for you. The two most important positions on the field are centre half and centre midfield and we have at a push one player who may be good in the future between these two positions. We have fuck loads of number 10s and fuck all elsewhere in the side. If we had even one centre midfielder who could pass a ball forward I have no doubt that the likes of Wijnaldum and Sissoko would be playing better but we don't and this is a major reason why we're terrible. It doesn't matter how many internationals we have if we have a spine that wouldn't look out of place in League 2

Most teams have this many coaches I would think. Under Pardew we had an abnormally small backroom team

  13. Well tbf when you're selling players for a lot of money due to their good performances while you're coaching them at least some of it should come back to you to be able to spend Don't disagree, but we both know under Ashley that isn't the case He might not have had much, but at least he was allowed for the most part to reinvest when he did sell a player. Aye fair enough

  15. He spent next to nowt overall like, don't think it's a myth unless my memory's failing me. They went 2-3 years without spending any money on a permanent transfer at one point. There was the odd splurge on the likes of Fellaini but that was generally offset with huge fees for the likes of Rooney, Lescott, etc every year or 2. The best estimate I could find was a net spend of £5.6m over 11 years, which is absolutely nowt compared to the sides he was consistently finishing around. That's amazing like given they were a good side for most of that time
  16. Obviously Kenwright cares about the club a lot more but in terms of money spent I wouldn't imagine Kenwright is any better than Ashley in that side overall
  17. Gini's been terrible in the middle
  18. Elliot Janmaat Mbemba Dummett Mbabu Wijnaldum Sissoko Colback Perez Cisse Mitrovic

Who came up with the transfer policy we have? Ashley, Llambias, Charnley, Carr himself?
