Guess I'm mistaken there, though my point about them having no incentive to improve still stands. They're still getting a hefty wage and Krul is still the backup keeper at his national team So obviously an incentive is to become Dutch no.1?

You can't blame a manager for everything like. You can't just let him off the hook because he had bad managers Staggering, utterly staggering opinion considering the level of coaching, tactics and selections we've endured in the last 4-5 years. At various times Sissoko, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Debuchy, Janmaat, Ba, Cisse all played well under that poor management. A poor manager isn't an excuse for playing s**** No one said it was, only that they are not playing to their potential consistently and a better coaching staff is more likely to bring it out. Even though all of them players had their moments under Pardew it was really was just one massive missed opportunity. Just like nobody said he was entirely to blame but IMO its ridiculous that a player isn't held accountable at all for his own poor performaces That's because the manager signed the player and is the one who's expected to reply when the player doesn't succeed. If you're not good at your job, it's your boss's job to either fire you or make you perform better. Cabella or Krul have no incentive to perform better, they're earning a comfortable wage, and have absolutely no competitors for their job and there doesn't seem to be much indication of some competition coming in. They have no incentive to improve. Krul, especially, since I believe he also has very little competition for the national team either. If they're declining, it's the manager's job to get in someone better, or make them perform better. No one will question the players, they're only ruining their own careers, it's the club's job to improve it's own position This isn't really the argument I was having but since you've brought it up Cabella was in the French squad when he arrived here and now he's not. Krul isn't even first choice for Holland is he? They both should be using the Euros as an incentive to have a good season

A poor manager isn't an excuse for playing shite When the majority of players play poorly more often than they play well, and they're not shit players, then there's clearly a common denominator in the situation ffs. If it was 1-2 lazy flair monkeys then yeah I'd buy it, but it's not, it's been all of them for the vast majority of the time playing shite. Look all I'm trying to say is that players need to take some responsibility for their own performances even if they are being let down by the coaching. Krul for example has got a lot worse in the last few years. I have no doubt Woodman is shit but that doesn't mean Krul isn't to blame also. If Krul cared enough about his career he would have paid some goalkeeping coach to help him improve his kicking by now

Shouldn't Liverpool get some kind of punishment for not letting Suarez go to Arsenal when his release clause was met
-
Parky hates managers that try to play good football
-
Worked out well for him
-
He was there for half a season and had a 4 game losing streak in the middle of it. Not exactly a brilliant side

To do what, wash the dishes? To wash the Delph
-
What's that meant to mean?
-
as has been stated why would they? he's probably a 20 goal striker down there, keep him and lose for nothing is worth more to them than selling for fuck all Don't they need money badly though?

Jose just loves doing favours for his mate

Is Austin much better than Cisse like?
-
I know one particular fat man that would disagree with that

Van Persie was probably the best player in the PL when he went to Man Utd and that was only 20m with one year left. Austin is mainly a poacher who has had one season in the PL. 15m is still a lot of money anywhere outside England and we could get a lot better player for that price from abroad That was also years ago, prices continue to inflate, and the english player premium still exists today Exactly. Add to that Van Persie was also quite a bit older, meaning his value was only ever going to decrease during the course of his time with Man United. Those who think QPR will not get 15m for Austin need a reality check imo. TV money is ever increasing, as is the importance of investing to stay in the Premier League. This is something which everybody from Leicester to Watford seem to realise, but seems sadly lost on wor Mike. We simply need to spend big to stand still, let alone progress, or we will get sucked in the relegation battle again and come out the wrong side of it (again) sooner rather than later. They may get it but they shouldn't and I'd prefer us to spend similar money on someone much better

Much rather spend whatever we had to on Cabs rather than Austin

They can't have inflated that much. We could get basically any player in La Liga outside of the top five for 15m and similar or less wages than we would have to pay Austin

We don't even need a striker that urgently compared to other positions. I'd rather spend it on a midfielder that can pass, a winger or a centre half

15m is ridiculous IMO. One year left on his contract and only 1 season in the PL. We could get a lot better players for that IMO

Sounds like a great idea, also sounds like a recipe for war . Edit: in the Balkans I mean. The North Sea stuff was mooted a while back to include Celtic/Rangers. They have it in basketball and it works OK. Football matters more
