  1. I joined too, but doesn't show up under my leagues. Going through some of the teams, it appears most have opted for Star starting XI, and basically fuck all on the bench. Mine's pretty balanced, hell Muller is benched first round
  2. No worries about 0-0s and uninspiring 0-1s. I think by the next few weeks, Iran will replace Greece as the symbol of boring teams. 8 goals scored, 2 conceded in 10 qualifier games . two 0-0s, and a 1-1 in three friendlies so far. Only 2 strikers in the squad of 23. Can't believe it's the same Queiroz that according to Fergie was the mastermind behind Man Utd's orgasmic football in 2007-08.
  3. This Barca fan's rant about Cesc is intense. https://storify.com/LordMoloch/the-cesc-story
  4. Still City for me as favourites. Loads of title winning experience, unlikely to have a shocking away record for the first couple of months this time around compared to last summer, and most important of all.....they got 0 points from their h-2-h from Chelsea last season and can only improve on that, no matter how many players Chelsea sign.
  5. Marca are saying Cesc will earn THREE times more money at Chelsea, comparing to what he was earning at Barca.
  6. I sent my entrance fee a couple of days ago. a check mark next to my name would look canny, like.
  7. Henry Winter's tweets :anguish: Takes the word "cringe" to a whole new level.
  8. Hope Rickie has a good game. Would be unbelievable to see Flanagan get his first cap. Last summer this time, he couldn't even get a loan deal to a league 1 side !
  9. It's not as easy like. Fabregas would be on 150k/week minimum, whereas Lallana would be 70k/week. Over a 5 years contract, that's a hefty difference. We won't be able to compete for the very very big stars until the stadium expansion is complete, so I guess around 2019 at the earliest. Henry has always said wages are more important than signing fees for him, and spent 2 seasons setting up a performance based wage setting, hence Suarez' wages raising from 40k/week to 200k/week within 2 seasons. Really can't see us signing anyone who'd command more than 100k/week at max salary seeing Sturridge and Sterling are due a bump as well. That's why we aren't even bothering for Shaw for example, since Man Utd are reported to be paying 100k/week. That's insane IMO.
  10. Get Costa in and they should win it anyway. Should've won it last season. Cost won't be scoring more than 15 league goals next season. Feel free to quote me on that. which would be enough to get Chelsea the title. It won't, like. They'll be losing 12 goals from Eto'o , not to forget. Eto'o scored some important goals in big games for Chelsea this season. It's a myth that all of Chelsea's problems is because of lack of a profiling striker. Chance creation is a bigger issue, but that's the sacrifice you take to have such defensive solidity as Mourinho's team has. Also, this year they had an exceptional record against teams around them that got them to 3rd, it'll take some doing to replicate that, we'll see I guess.

  12. Cesc been spotted on Bond Street in London today. Think it'll be Arsenal or stay at Barca for him. There is no way I can see him under that malicious devil Mourinho considering their verbal spats in the past.
  13. List of players who deserve to play RB for England more than Glen Johnson: Clyne Chambers Flanagan Stones Wilkinson Simpson Jenkinson It's absolutely baffling that he is in the squad after the season he had, and worse, the undisputed starting RB. If Harry takes him this summer, I won't say a single bad word about him again,.
  14. @KDT Allegedly has a Liverbird tattooed on his chest, and there is a vine of his reactions during second half of Norwich-Liverpool game when he is literally commentating like ST holder. His sister also tweeted: "We are all over the moon" before deleting it shortly, also taking a pay-cut. And to think he was in League one 3 years ago. Must be living the dream now. @Ketsbaia: With PSGs, Monacos, City and Chelsea and Real in today's world, it's very hard to buy proven World Class players unless they are hell bent on joining us. Hard enough to out-bid them, but even harder when it comes to wages seeing the only players above 100K/week are Suarez and Gerrard (with Johnson hopefully getting f***ed off this summer). Liverpool are more of a system team, so not too arsed about the individuals to be fair.
  15. Reading on various places that Saints wanted 20M net for themselves for Lallana, and now it'll be a bit over 25M for the pair. 8M for Lambert, and 17M for Lallana (13.5M of which will be kept by the saints). so they'll get 21.5 M for the pair, with 4M going to Bournemouth. Not as bad as Monaco-Porto deal of last summer, but I guess it was a tactical move to seal the deal before the World Cup.
  16. It's actually 4M. Paying 5M extra, so that knocks off 5 from Lallana deal, so Saints will lose less money to Bournmouth. Expect Lallana to be sold at 20M now. Good 4th choice striker, and a handy penalty taker.
  17. Well, the Kroos one was obvious. Last summer they were supposed to sign Thiago/Fabregas/Schweinsteiger etc...and they were never going to sign 4-5 absolutely top class players being out of Europe. Just to get fans' hopes up. That Jackson guy' articles are so incredibly biased...first he wrote an article about the primary targets, all in region of 30M. and now he says it was Van Gaal who didn't want Kroos Van Gaal hates signings players anyways. Won't be surprised if he turned Smalling into a Winger, or Valencia into a CB. That's how he is. Anyways brilliant. Was having a peek on RedCafe and everyone single one of them are dead certain that they'll just waltz back into the top 4 with no problem.
  18. It appears that everyone has been Pardew-ed in the past year. Before, it was only EL that was touted as a distraction by muppets, now it appears that CL is on the same boat as well. All of a sudden, being in the Champions League, is a distraction and reduces your chances at the league. Unbelievably bollocks. Being in the greatest and most high level competition in the world as "distraction". Man Utd now 4/7 odds to make top 4 next year, because they won't have "distraction", instead they'll play mid-week friendlies in Tokyo and Sao Paolo . Hull City qualifies for Europe, first question "Europa League will be a distraction". Fucking hell, I can't wait until next season, now that we have the distraction and Man Utd don't. It's like you're studying for a quiz and Natalie Portman walks to you asking you if you fancy a quicky. Give me that distraction any day of the week. Poor Atletico Madrid are soooooooo distracted, they may win the double on Saturday. Imagine their distractions, next season when they have to play in the Super Cup and Club World Cup.
  19. ^ he's been one of the best players in serie A this season and it's not like Italy are blessed with world class attacking talent
  20. For some reason, I'm desperately cheering on Benfica as they are my own team. No idea why, maybe because of the manner in which Sevilla eliminated Valencia and I really want them to complete their quadruple.
  21. Fair to say she has gotten fed up with her "type", seeing she's resorted to basically the complete opposite of the type in Nasri. New adventures and all.
  22. ^ It's an awful list. Most notable is cheating on Freddie "The underwear model" Ljungberg, with Kieran fucking Richardson. Like, WTF
