  1. Roy Keane hitting back already
  2. Agreed, although Gerrard for me is or wasn't at the level of Lampard who for me has been one of the very best midfielders in the world over the span of his career. Certainly as an attacking midfielder there hasn't been many better. Scholes pisses on both talent wise though, quite simply the best natural all-rounder we've produced since Gazza. Don't think a player with so much deficiencies in the defensive side of his game, can be called an all rounder. It's no shame though, Pirlo was the same but always had Gattuso to protect and cover for him. Just think all-rounder is the wrong word to describe Scholes.
  3. Dortmund have 1 win, 4 draws, and 5 losses in CL away games under Klopp. Didn't know their away record is so poor.
  4. Why would I be bitter about a person whom I've claimed to admire many times. I absolutely admire Ferguson (love the fact that he is a cunt and IMO it gives him a competitive edge) and his personality, but if he is to criticize others senselessly, I'd be interested to read his opinions on his own fuck ups as well.
  5. Yet he says "Bebe was capable of scoring 20 goals a season" . I am all for true opinions (hence loving Zlatan's book), but it looks Fergie is trolling at times. Has he mentioned Anderson in his book by the way? by far one of the worst transfers of all time which never gets talked about. 30 million Euros in 2007 (adjust for current inflation it'll probably be 50 million Euros), and he's still seen as a "prospect". My Manc friends bring up He's won 1 CL, 2 CC, and 4 PLs...but it's not as he was truly influential in any of those. A true medal thief
  6. I don't think Fergie ever signed a Liverpool player. Get the feeling he'd have rather chop his nads off than admit they had something he wanted. As ridiculous as it sounds, I genuinely think Fergie put Owen on the bench vs. Barca in CL final instead of Berbatov, to just rub it in Liveprool's face if they won and Owen could get a minute. Simply can't think of any other possible reason for it.
  7. Really? Depends what position we're placing them at. I personally think Lampard is easily one of the greatest midfielders this league has seen in the past 20 years. I'm well aware he has limitations and I'm not saying he's better than certain other midfielders in that time period in other countries, because he's not, but - boring or not - it's impossible to ignore his phenomenal scoring record. It's absurd. That's due to his intelligence, composure and underrated technique. Gerrard, well, I'm obviously biased. He was clearly world-class back in his day but I think his "Captain Liverpool" image masked some deficiencies. What I've bolded is probably the crux of it - "overrated" and "underrated" have no real useful meaning until we add some context. I think what you say is spot on in reference to this league, but that's my point - this league isn't where it all begins and ends which is why I've always viewed both as limited/overrated. The press/media/fans would have you believe Gerrard/Lampard are have been on a par with Europe's best when there's no real substance, IMO, to such an assertion. They were on par with the very best in Europe from 2005-09 IMO. After that, of course not.
  8. I've admitted that I secretly really like Ferguson, but at times he is childish beyond belief. There is no need for him to try to be controversial and chat so much shit, to increase the sales of his book. He is already a millionaire, and he doesn't need to be a Joey Barton to get media attention and publicity. He is a c*nt, but I like c*nts and can't help myself.
  9. Has all sorts of digs at Benitez as I predicted. Accusing him of not using Gerrard properly despite Gerrard having the best years of his career under Benitez. And Gerrard and Lampard aren't over-rated. They aren't even rated by most of other fans. You should just have a look at average midtable team forum (13 teams) that it appears no fan rates them or reckon they can't get in their teams. It's about taking extreme measures. I was watching Gerrard's 100 PL goals the other day, and how the fuck can someone say he was over-rated. It was saddening to see him losing his burst of speed and athleticism which was so apparent in many goals in that video...I guess Ferdinand, Terry, Rooney, etc should get ready to be called over-rated as well as they are approaching their twilight years.
  10. The loser of Norwich vs. Cardiff next week or Holloway....though to be to Holloway, even Fergie would struggle to do anything with that piss poor squad. Hughton vs. Makay ....the loser will be feeling the sack.
  11. Cheering for Sweden and Iceland. Don't have a preference in other 2 games. Croatia are in a bit of a crisis now, and playing in Reykjavik in mid-November won't please them. Hope Iceland don't crumble under pressure. France aren't by any means shoe-in either, IMO Ukraine now are better than their euro 2012 team and can give France a good game. Romania-Greece man....wtf, literally the only game I didn't want to happen, so there would be a chance both go out. Greece will win aggregate 1-0 and then do fuck all at the tournament.
  12. PSG are 2.20 to beat Anderlecht -1 on Wednesday. Ridiculous odds. PSG are on fire now and Anderlecht lost last home game 3-0 to Olympiacos. I put all money left in account (sadly only $10) on that + Gala + Bayern win accy @ 3.5. Waiting time now until Wednesday....give me a second chance, god.
  13. How do you define "fine" though ? Be a solid top 4 team with the occasional title challenge (AKA Arsenal of last 8 years) ?? End up top 4 and win 2 titles let's say in the next 5 years ? Win a domestic trophy this season or go to last 8 of CL? All depends what "fine" means for Moyes.
  14. Klopp is building his own dynasty in BVB. Has taken them from mid-table strugglers to twice champions and CL finalists. They just announced record revenue for last year and Klopp basically runs the club tom to bottom (Same way SAF did for United). Why would he leave that now and take such a high pressure job and abandon his massive project mid-way. Makes no sense for him. Moyes is the wrong manager for United. During his 10 glorious years at Everton, there were plenty of signs that he'd struggle to adapt to a bigger role at a bigger club with more ambition and expectations. He is too cautious and conservative and bottles big decisions at big games. The fact that Everton won around 5 Merseyside derbies out of 30 under his management...or zero wins at Anfield/Emirates/OT/Bridge in 50 games in charge is no an accident. Last season, Fergie went to Anfield/Bridge/Etihad thinking "Fuck you cunts, We'll beat you" and got 9 points from those fixtures. Do you really see Moyes going there with similar mindset? He just lacks that spark and ambition and balls to be a top class manager...the same way Roy did. I hope he stays on though. The likes of RVP,Rooney,Vidic,Ferdinand,Evra,Carrick are all around 30 and need replacing or replacement-grooming in the next couple of years, and I much rather Moyes went around buying his type of players to replace those players than a top class manager. In my life (22 years), I've seen nothing but Manc domination and it's a great feeling that they don't feel so secure and assured anymore. Call it bitter/smalltime/etc...whatever it is, I'm enjoying the moment
  15. Hamburg-Stuttgart is a cracker.
  16. How did this thread go from Moyes to fan discussion. Back on track...hope Moyes gets a couple of wins under his belt. Can't afford having him sacked too early. Needs at least a couple of more transfer windows to complete the Moyesification of United. That Smalling-Rooney sub...He did those kind of subs a lot at Everton and they ended up conceding anyways. Looks like he hasn't learnt.

    Alan Pardew

I know the man is generally clueless, but he was spot on yesterday. It appears to me that he had gotten hands to Pochettino's notebook of how to play against Liverpool. Pressing up front, and being aggressive to 50/50 duels was superb in first half, as our team looked half-asleep and you were a lot hungrier, closing down space, and being effective on the ball. Debuchy and Santon were 10 times more disciplined than there 6-0 debacle, and I suspect Pardew ordered them to play like that. His faith in Tiote also worked because IMO he was your best player (that offside mistake aside). Was like watching Tiote of 3 years ago. Having said that, Rodgers made a baffling tactical decision. The moment you went down to 10 men, he should have removed one of our CBs and replaced them with Sterling/Allen/Alberto ...so we'll have one more body up front or on the wing helping in chance creation. If was baffling that we persisted with 3 CBs against Remy only (who was withdrawn in midfield most second half unless NUFC on the break). Total waste of a player. Not Rodgers' best day... Great result, hope you win a lot of points from your new few fixtures . Come on Pards !!
  18. As I try to add Ben Davies to my defenders, he picks up an ankle injury. Will wait to learn about its extent before deciding to take the risk or not. Swansea have a few Clean Sheet possible games coming and have played most the top teams already. Pellegrini has confused the hell out of a lot of people by dropping Zabaleta.
  19. Saints were value for their draw for sure, Osvaldo however had one of the worst strikers' performances I've seen this season. Absolutely abject. Arsenal though .... I'm dreading our trip to Emirates in 2 weeks
  20. Sturridge did pretty well like, goal and an assist? Assist not given. Should have scored more though (thought it was his worst game of the season). 54 points with Yaya and Zabaleta to go..if Zabaleta doesn't come on, Shaw it is. Glad I didn't take out Hazard, looks like faith is paying off. Koscielny is the most useless defender at keeping clean sheets though.
  21. Both Ozil and Hazard on fire, and yet I had Sturridge as captain. FUCK
  22. Despite previous arrangements, I propose a Goal for Parky. I know it ended in a draw, but we were absolutely wank and deserved nothing from the game.
  23. For fellow neighbour Americans here. Were you chuffed when Suarez handled the ball at the death vs. Ghana and Gyan missed it ? (I was grinning like a motherfucker) There seem to be a lot of bad-blood between US and Ghana still after nearly 4 years.
  24. Enrique and Lucas are out for us. Enrique has a knock and Lucas' wife has gone to labour.
