  1. So we've had a deal knocked back, aka have materially suffered. The rules have affected our ability to compete. Your obviously an etu bru copium enjoyer so I'll leave you to it.
  2. Atalanta definitely revoked Suds access before he left given the state of these links mind
  3. We have suffered loses because of these rules. We aren't bothered about them it's just performative at this stage.
  4. I actually think he looks better for them then he will for us. Our high press isn't what it was it's used sparinginly and our squad is pathetic so we can't rotate. I see a light weight play like Jackson just chasing shadows and being unable to hold the play up. He dovetailed with Palmer who we don't have or have ab approximation of.
  5. The issue is they can demand whatever they like the same way we can with Isak. If they are under no pressure to sell which they aren't then they ask for fuck you money. It's fair enough and ord the way it should be. If we are stupid enough to pay it more fool us and we deserve whatever comes our ways.
  6. Yeah I'm aware but it's still what a 100m year one outlay for a club with no money according to Brexit Jim. I think we can just take that he was lying through his back teeth and sacking a lot of people was just for the lols.
  7. He does? None of those will pay anything close to what Chelsea want.
  8. I've been saying that for years and the club have done nothing to challenge it, we are obviously ok with the rules.
  9. This is Chelsea's strategy and despite being mocked it's really working for them. The long contracts are protecting the value and obviously before the loophole was closing extending the cost of the player.
  10. Only if us or Saudi buy him they will. No chance anyone with a brain pays that much for him.
  11. Time to nail my opinion to the mast. Jackson for reasonable money as a rotation option is fine although this semes unrealistic. Jackson for big money as an isak replacement is terrible. Let's see how it plays out.
  12. Yeah we are but ultimately the cost of it is less than the cost of not buying one or two of the players we got during that period. It's worth it in that regard. The eales situation is obviously bizarre like and kind of parallels the Eddie Mitchell situation for me. It's quite clear to me that both Mandy and Eddie wanted someone to parts of roles they had inherited (the shit parts basically) but they ended up with people who wanted to do the actual good parts instead. I think it's patently obvious that internally as an organisation we are an absolute shambles that's riddled with politics. And I say this as someone who is working in such an environment
  13. Ahhh I hear you, I had our budget pegged at between 120-150m this summer. Putting the mess which is Isak to the side and keeper being say fourth or fifth priority I think it was prudent to let Trafford go elsewhere. Because if you do Trafford your left with between 30-50m to get a central midfielder and a centre half. Not really doable for the profile we need imo. And we are talking about a keeper to come in and learn the ropes for a year at least like we did with Hall imo. It just doesn't make sense to me but given the optics of the summer before and everyone thinking it was a done deal I absolutely understand why people may look at it differently.
  14. So many things are both true and contradictory about Mandy it's such a puzzle She is a force of nature and absolutely gave us our hope back I will always be grateful for that. Obviously like all of us she had her flaws and made mistakes along the way but the good massively outweighs the minor mistakes which were sorted without any real penalty.
  15. Yeah agree the deal was to be done. Are you referring to this summer though or last? This summer the fee was the stumbling block from what I can gather, I don't think we could do 40m and fill the other gaps. If we are talking last summer it was done but we pulled out after we got vlach for 20m. That's my understanding of the situation at least.
  16. Expand on that please Discman. Rare to see more than a paragraph from you on football matters so do indulge us
  17. Aye probably not, the position is more one of principle, it's something I mentioned long before this summer That being said and to bring the focus back from my tangent, it seems we have very good options left so we are in damage limitation mode. We should probably look to fill the squad as cheaply as possible with players who we won't have to take a haircut on later down the line.
  18. Personally, I couldn't give a toss about Trafford I get people really liked the idea of the transfer but for me I couldn't care. I don't see the value of developing a goal keeper, you just get the best off the shelf you can afford imo. We have some weird obsession with England's future number 1 as if we are Sunderland fans when Pickford game through, it baffles me.
  19. It's not about that, I'm not mad at him for not getting deals done it isn't his job. My point remains as it did at the time he shouldn't have a job at this club and he wouldn't have a job at any other top club either. He's there because of nepotism. And sorry for this I saw Mcginn and Jackson and our name linked before I drank my coffee and violence was the option for today
  20. Mcginn is a canny player however he's old, expensive and on a canny wedge he makes zero sense for us it's pure panic mode from us (if true). These kind of links are exactly why clubs don't let managers do transfers btw, we all love Eddie and he's the king of the north but he needs a prime minister to do the transfers like. Btw No are we ready for the Andy Howe chat yet? Ive been waiting for it since I said he should be nowhere the job and got absolutely destroyed for that opinion
  21. I reckon so yeah, they are Liverpool who are lauded throughout the world and never criticised for the blatant tapping up they do. As I've said a million times, PSR should actually cause deflation but because it means only one profile of player is desirable everyone wants the same type of player pushing prices right up.
  22. It feels like a life time ago. Was absolutely fizzing for this window as well. We had so long to prepare and get out ducks in a row and we've somehow made an absolute meal of it.
  23. Another thought on this lad, Chelsea play 4231 a lot of Jackons good work comes from Combination play with Palmer. We play 433 where our striker is often isolated, totally different systems and styles of play. Jackson isn't capable of holding up the ball particularly well and obviously isn't suited to playing as a target which we often try to do. His pressing has been cited but note often than not these days we don't press that high and with the extra games we have I expect even more game management from us which is something we did a lot of last season.
