  1. The issues of this summer happen within the current structure I agree. Eddie is probably the best thing to happen to the club but the downside is he wants that final say and this is problematic as it doesn't fit the structure of a well run club. Also, it seems like we are well behind on the data side as well. Things are rough and we have structural issues it's unlikely we can resolve.
  2. I hear you man, like Liverpool I'm a destination poster Stupidly aside sorry for being harsh, I meant what I said your a canny poster and I don't want to see you go on hiatus. It's just I've heard this path isn't linear said so many times and it always strikes me as blind optimism especially as we haven't closed the financial gap and this window is really reinforcing how important it is we do that.
  3. So it's bad targeting then? As I've said absolutely no benefit trying to buy players who have better options. It's up to us to recognise this it's just a waste of time and resources. Id expect any director of football to take a level headed approach tbh, and not be swept away with hubris. It's another reason why you'd want one tbh. I understand the concept isn't popular but I think it's quite clear why this model exists and the manager led models basically died with Klopp.
  4. No, if you have a director of football who is competent i would expect we sign players who want to sign for us as everyone else seems to do. Let's be frank, our transfer issues in this window are outliers for the rest of the league.
  5. I think your a cracking poster but I hate this post How does a linear or none linear trajectory work when a clear glass ceiling is in place. Unless something changes i imagine we yoyo between European qualifications challengers to slightly below. Obviously it's hard to predict as the information we have is incomplete but for me this is far more of a realistic outlook than just hoping things improve.
  6. This is such a stupid tweet man. We didn't get any of them as they had better options. Id expect a director of football was in charge of recruitment to have a very good idea of who wants to join and get stuff over the line. This window has been an absolutely failure.
  7. Of course he was choosing them over us Second they bid it was curtains.

    Malick Thiaw

Someone posted last night I can't remember who that they want to keep him as the new gaffa rates him.
  9. I probably worded things badly. Point i was trying to make is weather we keep him or sell him is the same thing in terms of if he intends not to play. If he plays it's obviously a bonus.
  10. Eh, I'm not sure about that. He's not strong and he's not skilful imo. He is quick though and does seem to press. Other than I don't see much else.
  11. We are the masters of our own destiny. It's that simple. We can blow them out of the water even with these rules so what's going on should be seen as a choice.
  12. Again not relevant, weather we sell him or he stays and doesn't play is the same thing. Ultimately the approach is real simple. He does not to to Liverpool this season. If they want to try again next season they are welcome but memo should be made to clear to both him and then the way they've gone about this will not be rewarded.
  13. You do realise the super league was replacing European competition they would have still been greeding it up in the PL with even more money. They couldn't be kicked out because the generate too much money and interest. Nobody wants to watch Sunderland Burnley.
  14. This doesn't actually mean anything. He can tell us whatever he wants and we can and should promptly ignore it whilst writing up his next fine.
  15. Brace for yourself for the only wanted Man united tweet. Will knock your tin foil hat right off
  16. Of course it has, they decided to pass rules without having everyone on board. They can eat a dick and I hope the other clubs are thanking Spurs, Liverpool Man United and Arsenal for this as those 4 are the drivers of this.
  17. i don't understand what we are looking for tbh. The profile of Sesko Ekitike and Jackson are all different. We are definitely doing transfers based on gut feeling
  18. The media thing isn't particularly relevant, it's just old men shouting into the void. And again training ground selling women's teams are all loopholes we can exploit it we choose. It's why I'm my original response I spoke about doing more, we can close the gap but it's going to require effort and investment from our owners which surpasses what they aren't currently doing and this is where the question mark is.
  19. System is rigged that should be without question. It isn't impossible to break into though, but obviously in order to break into it a lot more is needed from all areas particularly ownership.
  20. Too bad that isn't possible. Fans want success and success takes money. Now we have the richest owners in the world with artificial constraints placed on them.
  21. We didn't need another goal keeper last summer, its not just about optics it's also resource allocation. I actually don't think it makes sense to develop goalkeepers and most elite clubs seem to take the same approach. You just buy the best you can. Anyways this detail distracts from the main points which is we have systematic issues at all levels which will need to be sorted if we are to be number 1 (not my words).
